While Del Frio's other branch has been a particular favorite of mine, the Tipu Sultan one failed to live up to the brand's name and it's regular customers(mine) expectations. The fact that it was completely empty right at dinner time should've been the first clue that something was amiss - but alas it wasn't. The upstairs area was dusty and unkempt. It looked like the place hadn't been cleaned in days, if not weeks. Of all the food that my friend and i ordered, which included chicken strips, mozzarella stick, grilled Fajita sandwich, a Mocha Frappe, Hazelnut Cappuccino and two scoops of ice-cream the only thing worth writing about is the herb butter/mayo dip served with the chicken strips. Calling the mozzarella sticks a disgrace to mozzarella sticks would be being kind. I honestly think they were cooked atleast 3-4 hours before serving, only spun in the microwave before being plated. The sandwich was nothing short of a catastrophe. Crusty french bread was used for the sandwich. It was stale. The sandwich itself was almost fridge-cold while the fries were hot. Upon complaint the waiter whisked it off to the kitchen to be reheated in the microwave, the ringing 'ding' of which was clearly audible at our table. Another thing that was also quite clearly audible was the snickering and taunting and grumbling words of the waiter and kitchen staff. By the time the food returned to the table the already tough bread was almost hard enough to break teeth. The only reason why i suffered through that sandwich that kept falling apart and spilling out was because i absolutely loathe wasting food. The Mocha Frappe was a poor attempt at one and rhe Cappuccino was nothing extraordinary either. The waiter attending to our table was either very confused or completely uninterested in attending to us. The order was late, mixed up, and the service slow. Whats more, even the ice-cream we ordered was completely melted, running down the sides of the bowl. My friend and i didnt think this sort of service deserved any sort of large tip even when we'r especially generous while tipping our servers wherever we go. So this time we ony left the Rs. 10 change which was returned to us as a tip. On our way out of the restaurant we hear the waiter complaining about our miserly behavior to another in a very insolent manner, in a loud booming voice clearly used to make certain we hear. All in all, a terrible experience. Had I had even the slightest inclination that it would be that bad of an experience, I'd have rather given away double the amount i spent on low quality food and service than suffered through...
Read moreI would give this place 0 stars if it was possible. Out of 4 experiences from this place, 3 have been utterly disappointing. First negative experience was when I ordered a beef burger from here, and received overcooked patty with stale bread which was falling apart. Second negative experience was when I had ordered a steak on a sizzling plate in-person, and they had burnt it along with the vegetables until the whole dish became bitter and inedible. Third negative experience was today when we ordered 2 fettuccine alfredo pasta, and received very small portion sizes. One of the portions even looked like someone ate from it. The only positive experience we had was when we had ordered club sandwich with mushroom cream soup. Overall I do not recommend this restaurant at all! Visit xanders instead for a better...
Read moreOrdered chicken Lasagna, it wasn't really a lasagna as the red sauce and the white sauces were mixed together and smothered all over the pasta and the plate.
It honestly felt like the cook/chef didn't know what they were doing or they were to lazy to layer it up. Where as we know that lasagna is something that is traditionally prepared in layers of meats and sauces (both white and red), and keeping both the sauces SEPARATE.
Moreover the lasagna had a bit of that local spicy touch to it. It felt as if it were spicy and had something extra going on instead of a good traditional herbs and sauce.
You guys are a great restaurant, hence you should live up to...
