Espresso Tipu Sultan — Restaurant in Karachi Division

Recently, I visited Espresso for a casual yet meaningful meetup, and the experience turned out to be a perfect blend of great food and thoughtful conversation.

I ordered two dishes that stood out both in presentation and taste:

🍕 Mexican Pizza – A delightful fusion of flavors! The tomato sauce base was tangy and well-seasoned, while the fajita chicken added a tender, smoky touch. The mix of bell peppers, onions, black olives, and jalapeños gave every bite a lively balance of spice and freshness. The crust was crisp on the outside and soft within — an absolute treat for those who enjoy a flavorful, mildly spicy kick.

🥪 Grilled Chicken Ciabatta Sandwich – This was the real star of the meal. The Ciabatta bread had just the right crunch and chewiness, packed with spiced chicken breast, creamy mayo, melted cheese, fresh onions, tomatoes, and crisp iceberg lettuce. Every layer came together harmoniously, creating a rich and satisfying bite that made it an instant favorite.

As a dedicated and frequent patron of espresso coffee, my wife and I rely on our morning routine, which always includes a visit to Espresso Tipu Sultan after dropping our kids off at school. However, our experience on April 3rd, 2024, at the Espresso Tipu Sultan branch was extremely disappointing. It was during the last ashra of Ramadan, and we had come for iftar with our children.

To start, the food was served very late, even after the maghrib prayer had concluded, leaving us waiting for 15 minutes. The most concerning aspect was discovering a cockroach in our water bottle, which happened to be an Aquafina bottle. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm whether the bottle was sealed or not, as the waiter had already opened it. Additionally, I cannot ascertain if the insect was in the bottle or in the glass itself, as my daughter had already taken a sip from it before we noticed.

Upon bringing this issue to the attention of the manager, I was surprised by his lack of urgency or concern. He seemed nonchalant, suggesting to simply change the water, even though our order had not yet been served. This lack of responsiveness and accountability from the management was deeply disappointing, especially considering our regular patronage to the establishment. Despite waiting for over a month, neither the manager nor anyone else from the branch has reached out for an apology. As a result, I have not returned to that branch since...
