Overcrowded and noisy, inadequate staff that seem lost, poor service, very average food which was overpriced. Definitely not a good experience. Thank you Xander's Bukhari, but we're moving on.
To answer the owner's question, yes my wife and I went this Friday morning (16 Nov 2018) for what we thought would be a nice, quiet relaxing late breakfast/brunch. The place was packed (which is a good sign) but also very noisy (which is not so good for customers). Now I understand that the restaurant cannot be responsible for a party of guests who choose to yell and laugh and basically be a nuisance but a restaurant should be prepared and experienced enough to deal with such situations. Firstly, the waiters were scampering around but not really waiting on any guests. A few other tables had to remind them of orders that hadn't arrived yet. There was a middle-aged looking gentleman who seemed to have lost his way or his memory, and he turned out to be the head waiter! We had to wave our arms frantically to get the attention of any waiter, and each time we were signed (by hand) to wait. What!? So when we finally were able to get our order done the food came very late. The drinks felt watered down and bland. The eggs dish we ordered was not balanced at all - we've made better Shakshouka at home! The X-Burger was also bland on an appealing bun. I asked why the Rs100 difference from the other burger and the waiter unashamedly announced it was exactly the same save for a difference sauce. I wonder what spurt of sauce caused a Rs100 spike in price. Truffle maybe? Perhaps the head waiter could have been a little more diplomatic I thought and appeased the customer. He still seemed lost. During our meal we had to wave frantically several times to get the attention of any waiter but none seemed to notice or care. The icing on the cake was when we finally paid the bill. I told the waiter that I was not leaving a tip and asked him if he know why. He smirked and replied because we didn't get any service! Incredible! I blame the management. It is their job to coach their waiters on basic decency at least. No matter how amazing the chef or the location or the decor, or the owner is, the first contact is always with the waiters. Our opinions are formed through them. We go to restaurants not to buy cooked food, but to indulge in the experience. Sorry, but Xander's Bukhari just did not give us any experience we would want to enjoy. Perhaps things can change. This extended review is my...
Read moreXanders consistently proves itself to be one of Karachi's premier dining establishments, not just for its reputation, but for the sheer excellence demonstrated on every plate and in every interaction. Our recent visit was truly outstanding, showcasing a diverse menu executed with remarkable precision.
The service was excellent throughout the evening. From prompt seating to attentive monitoring of our needs, the staff were professional, friendly, and efficient, contributing significantly to a seamless and relaxing dining experience.
What truly impressed us was the kitchen’s ability to master multiple culinary styles. While we had some classic comfort items, the supposed "Italian" dishes and global favorites were equally superb:
Parmesan Crusted Chicken: A signature dish, the chicken was tender and juicy, encased in a perfectly seasoned, crispy Parmesan crust that melted in the mouth.
Orange Chicken: This dish was a revelation. It offered a wonderful sweet-and-savory balance, with perfectly cooked chicken pieces in a bright, sticky orange glaze that was far above typical takeout fare.
Fish and Chips: The ultimate comfort food, the fish was flaky and moist, served in a light, non-greasy batter with excellent chips—a testament to Xanders' dedication to quality, even on the basics.
Paired with excellent drinks, every element of our meal reinforced the fact that Xanders is a world-class restaurant.
Whether you're craving Italian pasta or a global specialty, the food is excellent and promises a memorable meal. Xanders is highly recommended for anyone seeking quality, consistency, and an all-around...
Read moreI have visited this branch of Xander's multiple times and it is always bustling and packed with people hence a long waiting time! Quite a buzzkill and its noisy as well! HOWEVER, Babar pasta NEVER disappoints. It is so perfectly balanced with i think 3 kinds of meat and a very good amount of pasta and that amazing creamy texture and the heavenly taste! Its simply worth the money! Secondly, the creamy soup that I got was probably not the best choice in the terms that i ordered a heavy and creamy pasta afterwards BUT i didn't regret it one bit because it was literally like having plain perfectly seasoned cream with loads of boneless chunks of chicken! A very delightful experience indeed! The Jalapeno Orange Chicken was my first time trying it and it was definitely not bad at all. It was however not too mind blowing but that could be just me since i had eaten a lot by then😂 Anyway i would definitely NOT recommend getting any drinks from here because it is way too overpriced like we literally ordered lemonade and it was just 7Up with extra lemon so...
