Yesterday night we went to Domasco and man… the experience was terrible from start to very end.
Let’s start with the food. We ordered their Arabic Platter (the one they told us we’d “love”), two pieces of chicken injected broast one thigh and one leg piece. The broast? Below average at best. The crust was way too salty for me. I’ve had broasts before that were spicy, balanced, and delicious but this wasn’t it. The crust was the only part with any flavor, and that flavor was just salt overload. The inside? Plain, bland, forgettable. The garlic sauce? Didn’t like it. Fries? Okay. Rice? Okay.
Now, the shawarma from the platter… easily one of the worst shawarmas I’ve ever had. The chicken was so dry it was like eating plain shredded cardboard. No spices, no seasoning, just dry meat. We literally left the whole chicken on the plate. And believe me — I’m the type who never leaves food unless I feel like eating it could harm my health. This was one of those moments. The bread wasn’t good either, and the serving of garlic sauce was so tiny it felt like they wanted us to buy extra. Overall, a big letdown.
Service? Don’t even get me started. When we arrived, they told us they only accept cash. That’s already a downside, especially for a place in such a popular society — no card payment system? Fine, we let it slide. But then… the waiting began. We got our roast after 30 minutes. And mind you, the place wasn’t even packed. My friend didn’t even get his platter until 10 minutes after I had already finished my broast and he was just staring at me as he don't eat broast, which makes me feel kind of guilty or something. He had to remind them four times to bring his order. That’s just ridiculous.
And the worst part? For just a platter, the total wait for his food was 40 minutes. Forty minutes for dry chicken and bad bread.
Final touch — when it came time to pay, they gave us an account number and told us to send the money there, then send them a screenshot on WhatsApp. Not an issue for me if that’s their process, but after this whole trashy experience, it just added to the headache.
Overall? Late service, terrible food, not worth taking your family to. There are way better options out there that are worth your time, money, and mood. This place? No thanks....
Read moreI've been a patron of this restaurant for quite some time, drawn initially by their authentic Middle Eastern cuisine which truly stood out in the market. Unfortunately, my recent visit was a far cry from the exceptional experiences I cherished in the past. The quality of the food has noticeably declined; the garlic sauce, once a delightful accompaniment, now lacks its former zest and flavor. It's evident that there's a significant shift in how the food is being prepared.
The disregard for cleanliness was another major concern. The dining area, which used to be meticulously maintained, was untidy and neglected during my visit, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere for diners. This lack of attention to hygiene detracts significantly from the dining experience.
Additionally, the customer service has taken a nosedive. The cashier's behavior was notably rude and unprofessional. An establishment's staff plays a crucial role in shaping the dining experience, and being met with discourtesy is unacceptable. It's disappointing to see such a lack of effort in maintaining a positive rapport with customers.
The ambiance and dining experience as a whole have deteriorated. What was once a go-to spot for an enjoyable meal now lacks the charm and quality it used to boast. It's disheartening to see a once-revered restaurant rely solely on its previous goodwill. Without immediate and substantial improvements in food quality, cleanliness, and customer service, I fear this decline will...
Read moreMy friends and I came to Damasco after first mentioning it a few months ago. We ordered Shawarma Sarookh, garlic fries and an extra khubez just so we could taste how the bread is like without anything in it.
If you order a few shawarma in the middle east, they get served in 5-10 minutes max. We had to wait for 25 minutes before our order was served. The fries without the garlic sauce were below average, and ok with the sauce. The first few bites of the shawarma, reminded me of the shawarma I used to get back in Jeddah, but after that I got used to the taste very quickly, and the shawarma felt tasteless to me. The khubez was good, just like the one you got back in Jeddah.
Perhaps people who haven't tried a lot of middle eastern food won't feel like the shawarma was tasteless after a few bites, but for me after waiting 25 minutes, it wasn't worth it. On top of that, the menu items are overpriced. A shawarma sarookh costs 470 rs, and the garlic fries cost 200 rs. Not to mention, the garlic sauce was used up very quickly, over half of the fries were left when we finished the sauce.
They have a few tables inside and out for dining in. The ambiance of the restaurant was nothing special, though the view of the kitchen was good.
In conclusion, it wasn't appalable, but it was bad. I wouldn't recommend...
