I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gourmet Restaurant in Faisal Town, Lahore, and my experience was a mixed bag. While the food and ambiance were impressive, the service left much to be desired.
As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor was modern and sleek, with comfortable seating and ample space between tables. The lighting was dim and cozy, making it an ideal spot for a night out with friends or a romantic evening.
Our server took a while to attend to us, but once we placed our order, the food arrived promptly. We started with the Chicken Tikka, which was cooked to perfection and marinated in a blend of spices that added depth and flavor. The portion size was generous, and we devoured every last bite.
Next up were the Kababs, which were small but flavorful. While they could have been slightly larger, they were cooked well and paired nicely with the accompanying chutney.
For our main course, we opted for the Chicken Handi and Chicken Achari Handi. The former was rich and creamy, with tender pieces of chicken that simply fell off the bone. The latter was a revelation – tangy, spicy, and utterly delicious. The Achari Handi was a highlight of our meal, and we found ourselves scraping the bottom of the bowl to get every last morsel.
We also ordered the Big Byte Burger, which was a pleasant surprise. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, it was reminiscent of a dynamite burger and left us wanting more.
However, the service was a different story altogether. Our server seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, taking ages to attend to our needs. We had to ask multiple times for refills on our drinks and condiments, and even then, they took their sweet time arriving. It was frustrating, to say the least, and took away from our overall experience.
Despite the slow service, we left the restaurant feeling satisfied and full. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was comfortable and inviting. With a bit of improvement in the service department, Gourmet Restaurant has the potential to be a top-notch dining destination.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a tasty meal in a comfortable setting, Gourmet Restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared for a wait, and don't be afraid to ask for what you need – eventually, someone will get around to helping you!

Read moreAs I walked into a Gourmet Restaurant Faisal Town Lahore, little did I know that I was about to encounter a shocking reality that would change my perspective forever. It was a simple request for water or a cold drink, but what unfolded left me questioning the integrity of our local brands and their ties to international controversies. Upon arrival, my Family and I were surprised to find that the restaurant wasn't serving their own brand's products – water and cold drinks. When we inquired about it, the response was vague, with the excuse that it was an individual choice. However, this raised eyebrows as we knew what is it behind the Palestinian brands consuming the boycotted products. Refusing their offer, we suggested bringing our own water and cold drinks from outside, a common practice in many restaurants. But even the nearby Gourmet bakery had no water available, leaving us with no choice but to seek alternatives elsewhere. As I ventured into nearby stores, I was alarmed to find refrigerators fully stocked with Israeli brands, while local brands were nowhere to be seen. When questioned, shopkeepers revealed that people preferred these boycotted brands, leading to the disappearance of local products from the market. Feeling disheartened, I managed to find only two small bottles of Sufi water from one shop. However, the real shock came when I returned to the Gourmet Restaurant with their own cold drink and Sufi water in hand. The manager's reaction was telling. Initially oblivious, he later approached us, requesting to hide the Gourmet cold drink under the table – a clear indication of their ties to the boycotted products. We refused and stood our ground, promising to consume it openly or leave without payment if necessary. The manager's discomfort was palpable as he begrudgingly retreated, muttering under his breath. This incident highlighted the uncomfortable truth: Pakistani brands were selling Israeli products without remorse, all in the name of profit. But it's time for a change. Let's boycott these local Zionists and support businesses that uphold ethical values and stand in solidarity with oppressed communities. Together, we can make a difference and hold companies accountable for their actions.

Read moreI would like to give an explained review on behalf of my team members (10) who choose to dine at this place for a congratulatory dinner. To be kept in mind: we pre-ordered all the menu items about 45 minutes before them serving us the very first menu.
Hot & sour soup: I remember having it last like an year ago but that was at Pak-mint place but two of the colleagues had it here like just by last week. The experience and taste was acceptable but this time it was the ingredients that made us think twice to consider it for next time. There was not much ingredients in the soup itself. Although it was warm and tasted fresh but it was all about corn flour and not much chicken or eggs in there with just a few vegetables floating in it. But we thought of giving it a pass and focused our expectations for the main course.
Fried cheese fish: The portion was reduced from usual serving and the pieces looked like leftovers (like why?, in just a week's time?)
Chicken BBQ: the bbq chicken seemed like it was cooked hours ago (cold and stiff) and wasn't fresh at all. Seekh kebab seemed fine but we lost interest in it overall.
Chicken handi: the only item that was fresh and tasty and appealed to our palette.
The worst part was when we tried to communicate with the manager about our experience he was arguing with us that we should have reported it on time so he could go and ask the kitchen staff for replacement (which was our fault that we expected anyhting good from them and waited for the main course). After paying bill we asked for the review tablet but they refused to provide us with that saying:
"Sir we can only apologise to you for the experience you had. Forget about the review thing, we would try to treat you better next time."
He wasn't willing to allow us to share our review on their service which was very rude of them. We tried to communicate politely with them but they were not cooperative at all. Although my previous experience (at other branches) of restaurants was fairly good in comparison to this one and based on current experience for future I would recommend to not waste your time and money at such a...
