Extremely Disappointing Experience - Poor Customer Service and Management
1/5 Stars
I made advance reservations for a dinner buffet with indoor seating on the top floor. What followed was a series of unprofessional changes and dismissive treatment that completely ruined our evening.
Multiple Last-Minute Changes: The day after booking confirmation, they called to relocate us to an outdoor cabin due to a "huge party." We accepted this change. Hours later, another call informed us that even the cabin wouldn't be available, suggesting we either change our date or switch from buffet to à la carte. When I explained that I couldn't change dates and had booked before this other party, the staff member dismissively stated that "obviously the bigger party matters more to the business."
Poor Communication and Logistics: Upon arrival at 9 PM for our confirmed buffet reservation at Poet Multi-Cuisine (2nd floor), we were told the buffet had been moved to Poet Mughlai on a different floor. No advance notice was given.
Unprofessional Management: After waiting 15 minutes for table setup, a manager overruled his own staff and gave our prepared tables to male guests from the owner's baby shower party, despite families (including ours) waiting first. Only through the intervention of a considerate female staff member were we eventually seated.
Inadequate Service: All food service was centralized in the baby shower hall, forcing paying buffet customers to walk there repeatedly to get food. This was both inconvenient and embarrassing. We left early at 10:15 PM due to the poor experience.
Misleading Pricing: The advertised "50% discount" is deceptive - you only discover later that it caps at ₹5,000.
One Positive Note: The staff did waive charges for our 1-year-old, which was appreciated.
Bottom Line: This establishment clearly prioritizes private parties over regular paying customers. The management shows no respect for advance bookings or basic customer service principles. Save yourself the frustration and choose elsewhere.

Read moreI visited The Poet, Lake City on Saturday with high expectations, as I had heard about their buffet offerings. Unfortunately, the experience was a major disappointment, especially considering they charged a steep Rs. 3,333 per person.
First, let me start with the food quality. The majority of the dishes were subpar, and only a couple stood out as being decent. The Dampukht chicken, was incredibly salty—almost inedible. Similarly, the Chinese dishes were overly salty as well, making it difficult to enjoy. The BBQ selection was nothing to write home about either—it was bland and felt like something you'd expect from a much cheaper buffet.
On a positive note, the Chicken Achari and Chow mein were one of the few dishes that was actually good. It had a nice balance of flavors and was quite enjoyable. However, this was overshadowed by the major letdown of the Dampukht (I think it was beef), which was so dry that I could barely swallow it. I had to take sips of liquid just to prevent myself from choking while chewing. For a restaurant charging such a premium, this was completely unacceptable.
As for the desserts, they were extremely underwhelming. There were only four options—Laziza Kheer mix, Zardah, Feerni, and Lab-e-Shirin, which just had apples for the fruits. For a buffet priced at Rs. 3,333, I expected a wider variety of high-quality sweets, not a few basic offerings that didn’t seem fresh or satisfying.
To add to the frustration, there were no complimentary drinks included, which I found surprising considering the hefty price tag. At such a high price, you would at least expect some basic level of service and value, but sadly, this was not the case.
Overall, this buffet was a complete letdown. The quality of food did not justify the steep price, and I left feeling unsatisfied and regretting the choice. There are far better places in the city that offer better value for money, and I would not recommend this place anyone looking for a quality...
Read moreHere Detail review… Let’s start with Good… overall food was really yummy… we ordered kaju paneer handi that’s really a good dish then makhni handi that’s good but comparable to other restaurants. For Kaju Paneer a great thumbs up. Garlic naan was also good… now In BBQ makhmali Boti was especially good tender crispy and have best taste so far sikandari kabab was normal just average or below average….
Now here the things were bad things come up. Food was NOT HOT it was normal we order food for 30 persons and was awaiting for almost 45 mins that’s normal but overall everything was WARM NOT HOT…
Then we sit out door on the 2nd floor roof top. I will atmosphere and ambience was not good. Means below average. There were a cabin have 2-3 tables have sitting capacity of around maximum 15 persons. So we were 30 cannot sit there and out that cabin there is everything dark no problem lights means no atmosphere plus…
Then here is another big BAD thing they served us in white wedding crockery that was not acceptable at anyway. We are paying something decent to a something decent… but no atmosphere plus not good ambience experience.
That’s what i want to share that can be improved.
Now close with Good, staff was corporative and do everything that they can do…
Now a compare thieve of joy haha but to their 1st not outside their boundaries.
We had booked and give them advance so get the best things 1st indoor was good have royal crookery and cutlery and lighting was exceptional but they told us you can’t sit together.
That’s again not Acceptable you should inform that we can’t provide indoor siting of 30 persons. They told us you guys have to sit group of 10 person means ruin our gathering.
Again bad management and booking procedures or proper explanation by Mr. Rehman.
Well that’s everything that I can explain…
One more suggestion don’t change name like mughlie or other if want to categorise do some delux or...
