The name tells you from the get go that you will be savouring the authentic Khyber shinwari taste that is nothing like anything else and although many promise the same, not many deliver on the promise. However, this particular joint will provide you with all the shinwari goodness you crave without compromising on the quality. Firstly, the ambience is good for families and groups alike as there is the usual dining table and chairs arrangement as well as the traditional dastarkhuwan, whatever catches your drift. Families can have their own private spaces which is a big plus as this place brings huge crowds for their tasty menu on offer and if that wasnt available, many might have not been too comfortable to bring families as this place is mostly filled with men. Now to the actual cuisine, I sampled 1kg of the renowned shinwari karahi for approx 5k rupees and it's safe to say that I was totally satisfied and enjoyed every bite, the meat was tender, the gravy was adequately balanced (not too thick or thin) and the spices were also optimal, meaning that the karahi could be savored by almost all types of people whether you like spicy or less spicy meals. The restaurant has a large assortment of bbq items as well which I couldn't taste but looked delectable all the same. The only blemish on this otherwise superb place is the horrendous arrangement of car parking, the cars need to be parked on the road which is a headache. Not only one worries about the safety of the car but also if one finds a place there is a chance that some other guy on the road can't go through as at night the road gets choked with traffic. For me the best way is to either go via uber/careem or use a bike. Otherwise be prepared for some hassle in finding a proper parking space. If not for the parking issue I would have given it five stars. The food is great, the rate for this quality is also reasonable and the arrangement for both families and non families means that you wont be disappointed with an evening at the Khyber shinwari restaurant especially when you are enjoying that superb...
Read moreThis was my second visit, and I’m writing this review in the hope that management will take notice and address the issues.
During my first visit, I specifically requested to see the meat being cut in front of me. I told both the butcher and the person preparing the seekhs. However, they disregarded my request and simply showed me raw meat on a platter. I expressed my dissatisfaction, but their response was dismissive and unprofessional.
Tonight, I visited again with my family and ordered 1 kg of boti and 1 kg of karahi. I initially received three skewers of boti, but when I stepped out again to check, I noticed only two were on the grill. I asked the staff about the missing skewer, and after a moment of confusion, the man admitted he had accidentally given one of mine to another takeout order. He told me to wait 3–4 minutes while he prepared a replacement.
However, the replacement skewer was made with fat (charbi) only. I pointed out that the original skewer was made from ribs, not fat, but he disagreed and became quite aggressive. When I raised the issue with management, they came over but the staff member denied everything in front of them. Also was charged for 4 naans whereas we had actually consumed 3. I raised it to them but the waiter lied! I wasn't going to make a fuss over a single naan.
It’s really disappointing to see such dishonesty over something as small as a single skewer. Why lie about it? It's not about the value....it's about integrity and customer respect.
The 2 staff members who have no sense of customer service and can be seen standing in the pic and should be trained on basic...
Read moreOur recent visit to Khyber Shinwari was nothing short of a feast — both for the palate and the soul! My friends and I decided to try this place after hearing a lot about it, and I must say, it lived up to every expectation and more. The highlight of our visit was definitely the lamb meat — tender, juicy, and full of that authentic Shinwari flavor that you just don’t find everywhere. Whether it was the classic lamb karahi or the simply grilled cuts, every bite was cooked to perfection. The meat was fresh and seasoned beautifully, allowing the natural taste to shine through without being overpowered by spices. It's clear that the chefs know what they’re doing when it comes to preparing traditional lamb dishes. Another feature that made our evening truly special was the rooftop seating, designed in darbari-style. Sitting on traditional floor cushions, with cool evening air and soft lights, it felt like a throwback to royal hospitality. The ambiance added a unique charm to the dining experience, giving us plenty of room to relax, laugh, and enjoy our meal the traditional way. The service was polite and timely. Despite being a busy evening, the staff managed everything efficiently and made sure we were comfortable throughout. The setting is perfect for groups, especially if you're looking to enjoy a hearty meal in a laid-back, culturally rich environment. Overall, Khyber Shinwari is a must-visit for meat lovers and anyone who appreciates a traditional Pakistani dining experience. From the flavor-packed lamb dishes to the majestic rooftop vibes, this place delivers on all fronts. Highly...
