As with previous reviewers, this is for the restaurant, not the hotel.
There is not a sign from the main road for the turn up a steep hill. You have to just know it’s there.
While the location is close to central Koror, I don’t consider it walkable, especially on the return trip (up a steep hill).
So if you’re staying here, you probably want a rental car.
The meal prices are the most reasonable I’ve encountered anywhere in Palau. I mean, $4.00 for an Asahi beer?!
The beef with broccoli is the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere. The broccoli tasted like it had been roasted over charcoal. See picture with review.
The Caesar salad may be the best on the island. There wasn’t a morsel left in any of the three plates of those who ordered it.
I’m not sure why, but the service was uneven. Plates will come out in the order that they are ready, with no logical reason why some arrive 15 or even 20 minutes after others. Or why the starters, calamari and fried pickles) came out last. BTW, best fried pickles I’ve ever eaten.
There is no A/C, but given the location on a hill and open concept, there is a delicious cross-breeze.
I have no idea as to the significance of the Harley Davidson cycle and motif, but there it is. If I lived here, the Rose Garden would become my...
Read moreWe came here with a group of friends and had an amazing time. The best part of the hotel are the views and the restaurant. The hotel sits atop a small mountain overlooking the main city of koror. Just beyond the city you can see the beautiful clear and bright blue waters and a chain of islands. We were even lucky enough to catch a rainbow spanning over the island, it was spectacular. In terms of the food we had the best meal of our 4 day trip at the hotel. The tropical setting and locally sourced wood that they used to build the hotel make it feel like you are staying in a treehouse. The rooms are clean and spacious and all come with balconies overlooking the view aforementioned. The sheets are white (I only stay in hotels with white sheets). All in all a great place to stay as it really suits the local...
Read moreSo good hotels in Palau are a bit pricey. Low priced are pretty much a dump. So I opted for the Rose Garden hotel and wasn';t disappointed. The rooms are nice and large with adequate bathroom. Terrace with a view. What makes this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. Food is good. Internet is workable in the restaurant but not available in the rooms. The hotel is a 10 mins by car from Koror, and a little remote, but the hotel staff will take you to places. Advice when booking is ensure that you ask them to pick you top at the airport. The taxis are a rip off. The main diving shops are 15 mins away by car, 45 mins to walk....
