TGI Fridays | Amador — Restaurant in Ancón

We were excited to see that they had reopened. Unfortunately we had a bad experience. There were plenty of servers and plenty of empty tables, but a lack of service. The manager came out to make an excuse why no bar drinks had come out after about 35 minutes and it was because he was having trouble with pouring a draft beer. So that held up bringing out mixed drinks for the table. This made no sense to us. So then we cancelled the draft for a bottled beer so that the drinks could make it to the table a few minutes later. The food came out and it was mostly okay. A medium burger came out well done and it took awhile to get the attention of anyone who could take car of us. Finally got the burger the proper temperature but it was not typical TGI Fridays service or attention. Not sure we can go back. Generally if it is just bad service or just bad food we still give it another shot. There are so many options on the causeway. Wish this was a place we could recommend,...

Haven't been to a TGIF in forever, but because this one is located in our hotel, we decided to dine here.

The Gold Medalist (virgin) was really refreshing and tasty. Not too sweet and no weird artificial flavors as I had thought it would taste - we ordered seconds.

The meal itself was good for the price, coming from people used to New York City prices. We had the salmon pasta and hangover burger.

We ate outdoors in the beautiful weather, and service was great. We were never kept waiting for long, and dishes were cleared at a reasonable rate.

I was prepared for non-American level service that is present in most of the rest of the world due to the reviews here, but I guess it really depends on the server you get.

Worth noting that locals bring their dogs into the outdoor seating area while they eat.

This Friday’s has dinner with a show! We were all pleasantly surprised how good the food and service was! We arrived around 4pm so to see the big cargo ships entering or leaving the canal. That’s a good time of day to watch the ships from the outside patio. The filet steaks and cheeseburger were tender and delicious meat My partner commented the dressing on side salad was delicious. I had the Mexi-Salad with chicken. It was one of the most flavorful salads I’ve had in Panama! Our server was very attentive letting us enjoy our drinks before ordering.
