First and foremost, this is more than just a bakery. It's a restaurant that, according to their mission statement, is dedicated to showcasing Hong Kong style Cantonese food. This place does come across like a typical Hong Kong eatery - simple menu, delicious food, quick service, pastry display.
Note that the items named "gauchos" are actually congees. I recommend the gaucho (congee) de filete de pescado (fish). Always use the "churros chinos" (fried dough) to dip into your congee. Also, the steamed rice rolls are referred to as "chee cheung fun." Go for the beef steamed rice rolls (chee cheung fun de carne). I did not notice until afterward that there is a special rice roll called "chee cheung fun rojo" (red steamed rice roll) that includes red rice pasta, crunchy rice and shrimp. Next time, for sure.
This is a place for you if you want simplicity in your food. Either choose the items pictured on the wall or from their menu. The thing I recommend the most are the casseroles (cacerolas). Many places serve them but this place in particular displays them prominently. If you want simplicity, go for the chicken casserole.
