So we came here after an influencer posted about this place speaking wonders about it. Reservations are a must, so we had our reservation at 2 pm. on Sunday. We arrived a couple of minutes before our reservation time and had to wait even though the place looked sort of empty inside. Only a few tables were occupied, but they only had 2 servers. We finally got sat, and the seating at 1st was very uncomfortable and awkward it was 4 adults, one child. No highchair was offered, so they just added a chair to a table that accommodates 4 people 🙄 so the 5th chair looked bad and was on the way. After we let them know about it and the server almost tripped with the added chair, they decided to put 2 tables together so we could sit comfortably. Mind you, there were only like 3 other tables occupied on the entire restaurant. Some of the tables did have the reservation sign on, but would it make more sense to take care of the clients that are present? The server comes to the table and looks a bit stressed, but at the time, we did not know why. Some of the natural juice options were not available, but the ones that did they came from concentrated bags, not from natural juices as advertised. The wings also were from frozen bags, so they had a weird texture. The burgers were just basic. I was surprised since 2 of us were paying $15 for the burger each. My mom Puree was also previously frozen and just reheated once again weird texture, and the passion fruit sauce tasted weird. The mac and cheese was disgusting. $135 later we were completely disappointed this place was very far and yes the views were beautiful and the scenery was great but you could enjoy the view without having to pay for food that is just basic. But wait, it gets better. You were not able to use the bathroom or washed your hand because there was no water on the entire restaurant. They end up canceling the rest of the Reservations because they had no water. How's that possible? We were extremely disappointed with the service, but that probably just explained why the staff was so off. We still made the best of it, but we expected more from the experience, and this place did...
Read moreThis is place is somebody's dream, and it was an utmost pleasure and fun to be a part of it as a costumer.
The restaurant is located quite far from the city, and the roads are very steep, the road quality is not the best, with small or weak car accessing it can be challenging with worn-out breaks the way back can be dangerous. But if you make it, the ambient of the place, the amazing view and if course the food will give manifold compensation against the hurdle to get there. From the first moment it was clear that somebody cares and not just about the food.
The food and service is excellent. The menu is not too large, (which is fine, the dishes are diverse enough) but the quality of them is easily buffet gourmet level. (Yes, the stake could have rested another 2 minutes, but... still one of the best stakes I had for a while) I would name the chef on the menu. The kitchen is clean, the portions are well sized, the serving and combinations are well done. The fact that somebody tries to grow a herb garden at the entrance to always have fresh rosmery and other greens tells a lot about the approach the place takes.
Highly recommended, after a long hike don't take a random restaurant on the main road, but do the extra mile to have a wonderful experience, as the place also takes the extra mile to...
Read moreThis restaurant is a must-see, was sad initially when our driver asked if we had made a reservation and I called and nothing was available in time before we had to return.
We stopped by for a photo-op. If you are driving, use extreme caution as it is a very treacherous drive. There were many others stopping too and they explained to many people (including us) that there were no openings left, unfortunately.
We ordered two capucchinos to-go from the bartender and then the pregnant hostess (I should have asked her name) came over and told me that the table in front of us (it was really a desk:) is ours if we would like to join them for lunch. I couldn’t believe our luck!
There is only one critique I would make and that is: the pace of service is slow. If you’re in a hurry, then you’re at the wrong place. How can you be upset when you consider where you are at? The windows are open and there was the most delightful breeze in all of Panama, I swear.
Food and drinks were amazing and the prices are super reasonable. We ordered a limonada con raspadura y una cerveza Balboa to drink. Risotto de camarones y róbalo con puré de boniato y salsa de maracuya. Staff were all friendly and the bartender was apologetic for the delay on the capucchino...
