Volcancito's — Restaurant in El Valle

Beautiful surroundings, nature, birds and views. The tables were sticky, glass top tables (if you choose to have these they should be sparking clean! My car windows are cleaner than that!) had smears all over, not appetizing at all. No nachos, so I ordered the tacos, not like the ones I saw on all the pictures of the restaurant. Not filling at all, more like a side dish than a main course! The chicken served with french fries. The chicken had not flavor, bland and unspectacular. The french fries, seemed like they were collected throughout the day and refried for this dish. They were dry and tough! The cocktails were awful. The granadilla mojito, it was not granadilla, but I can also not tell you what it was either. There was no taste of alcohol in it. The rum punch, it was better but really unspectacular. My wife and I went for a very late lunch/early dinner at 5:00 PM to Volcancito's. It looked very promising, but looks can be deceiving. As soon as we walked in, we were pretty much ignored and had to ask if we could be seated. We were directed to an indoor area, even though the outdoor terrace was quite empty. They claimed all the terrace tables were reserved.

From there, the service went downhill. It took more than 10 minutes for someone to take our order. In the dining room where we were seated, the music was too loud, and the reggaeton playing was not appropriate for a dining establishment. We asked if they could lower the volume or allow us to hear the more appropriate music playing in the other dining room.

We had dinner here on a Sunday while staying here. The food took a little longer than we expected.

I ordered the fish tacos and the tortillas seemed homemade but a little too hard for my taste. The fish and the toppings were ok. I also ordered the corn on the cob and the corn itself didn’t have much taste but had good toppings.

My passion fruit mojito was on the watery side.
