The breakfast that empties your wallet but fills your belly.

Look, I’ll give it to Kokomo - they make one heck of a breakfast (the Shakshuka and salmon Benedict in particular). Seriously, if you’re looking for the best morning meal in Panama City, this place delivers on flavor. The food is genuinely great (for Panama), and the atmosphere has that perfect “I’m on vacation even though I live here” vibe that makes you want to linger over your coffee.

But it goes sideways when it comes to price and service. Kokomo operates on what I like to call the “airline pricing model” - everything costs extra, and I mean everything. Want butter for your toast? That’ll be $2. Almond milk instead of dairy? Another $1. I half expected them to charge me for looking at the menu too long.

The service, bless their hearts, moves at the speed of molasses in winter (also typical for Panama). I’ve seen glaciers advance faster than our server attended our table. It’s like they’re all operating on island time, which would be charming if I had island time and we were on an island.

Don’t get me wrong - when the food finally arrives, it’s worth the wait (and the small business loan you’ll need to take out). The vibe really is stellar, with that relaxed feel that makes you forget you’re slowly going bankrupt over eggs Benedict.

Would I go back? Probably, but I’d bring a second mortgage application just in case I want extra ice.

Bottom line: Great food, great atmosphere, not-so-great for your bank account or your patience. Come hungry, come wealthy, and come with low expectations for speedy and...

Well, I think it’s a place with a pretty nice and simple design; it gives you a sense of peace. However, the food didn’t fully convince me. I went for the Burger Week special, and it was good, but that was about it.

The wings that the person I went with ordered were much better—great sauce—but the extra fries we ordered arrived long after the wings.

The girl who served us got my drink wrong, but she provided really good service and always had a great attitude, despite the place being packed and even having a line outside. That really surprised me.

I would come back for a coffee or to try...

The food and drinks were good and fairly priced, especially for a place of this caliber. A significant plus is that they are pet-friendly, which we appreciate a lot. We ordered the special burger for burger week. While it was okay overall, I found the burger to be a bit too salty for my taste. However, it was certainly not bad by any means. Additionally we got the coconut foam iced matcha, a regular latte, and the hojaldre brisket. All really great snack and drink options. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and I would recommend this place, particularly to those looking for a...
