La Paraguayita — Restaurant in Asuncion

Open since 1977, over the years La Paraguayaita has become an absolute point of reference for traditional Paraguayan cuisine and it offers all the classic dishes (with a huge open fire barbecue at the entrance) with a truly hard to beat quality (and quantity!) to price ratio. The ambience is simple, but comfortable and welcoming, and service is first class. While absolutely unpretentious and economical, you can't go wrong in choosing La Paraguayita for a traditional Paraguayan meal with friends, to enjoy lots of great meat, classic sides and yummy desserts....

We recently visited La Paraguayita for the first time. And we're so sorry we waited so long! The food (Bife de chorizo) was perfectly cooked, very tender and arrived quicker that we expected. The waiter (Julian) was fantastic and we enjoyed talking to him...and tipping him afterwards. The actual restaurant itself seems a bit outdated so we were very pleasantly surprised about the quality of the service and the food. Strongly recommend La...

One of the best traditional Paraguayan restaurants in Asunción. They have really great Parilla and also all the other Paraguayan classics like Chipa Guazu, Sopa Paraguaya, Mandioca Frita and garlic sauce with everything. The service is usually very attentive and friendly, and compared to other relatively "upscale" restaurants here their prices...
