The location we visited is part of one of the largest services on the SLEX travelling towards Manila.
There is plenty of parking near to the location and the public toilets are well maintained. It was busy over the lunch period, but later emptied very quickly by around 2.30pm
The menu is basic and can be appealing to some - although moderately expensive but then they have a captive audience.
The property itself needs some repair and is not to a condition to be expected with what seems like rust on the walls eminating around the AC and plenty of paint bubbling on the walls. Such impressions do impact on peoples opinions, it needs some investment to improve the look and feel of the restaurant.
They need to also address issues with flies that are around the eating area and are persistent.
The staff are very good and very supportive - this is a saving point for the restaurant and location.
Recommend the Fresh Lemonade - although could be sweet for many the cold drinking water was also welcome.
We had the Pineapple and Sausage fried rice - more than enough for 2 people.
The pork was tasty and well presented but was a small portion for 2 people.
The Broccoli was again well presented and cooked - crispy and with flavour thanks to the sauce supplied with the dish - the portion is big enough for 2 people.
The raddish relish was very tasty and we had to ask for more as it came in a small dish.
Would I recommend a visit - doubtful we will revisit, but for someone that likes Chinese food (but I feel with another influence) then...
Read moreWe had a really disappointing experience at NorthPark Shell Mamplasan last July 12 between 9 to 11 PM. We ordered properly and were told our food would take 20 to 30 minutes. We were fine with that and stayed patient, even though we ended up waiting for hours. Other tables who arrived after us got their food first, even if they ordered the same things.
One of the reasons we followed up was because we saw another table, who came after us, get their fried bread served hot, fresh, and cooked properly. When ours finally came, it was badly burnt, almost black. We rejected it because we were already upset with the service, but they still tried to suggest we accept it, saying the oil just was not changed. After we refused, we saw them laughing and eating the burnt food at the counter, as if mocking us, like they were happy they got a “free” fried bread because we did not take it.
Honestly, it felt like napagtripan kami ng staff, especially the cook and the one preparing the food for serving. To make things worse, we were only told that card payment was not available after we said we would be paying by card. Their reason was that they already settled their terminal for the day, even though it was still hours before closing and there were still customers dining.
This was one of the few times we got to meet as friends, given our busy schedules and stress from work. We were really looking forward to this dinner, and it turned out to be a frustrating and disappointing experience. Hoping the management takes...
Read moreI went crazy for their sweet and sour fish fillet. It was soooo good. I could eat that all day, all week.
We also had their King Dao Spareribs, which was also good. The peanut sauce was surprisingly not overwhelming, and the meat was tender.
Paired these with Yang-chao fried rice, which was just perfect. Not too salty, but definitely not bland. Perfectly seasoned. Its consistency was on point because the rice was dry—as it should be—but not to the point that you'll choke at first bite.
Not a fan of their Tan Tan Mien Beef Noodles and Potstickers, though. The noodles were overcooked and didn't taste like anything but a weird slurry. If you won't eat it with the beef slices, it tasted nothing. The potstickers were kind of a disappointment because it was so dry on the inside. No juices come out of it, and it's essentially just a big lump of meat that is dry and tasteless, not to mention that it was served cold. Its sauce was...
