We recently visited Apellido’s during our Asia trip and it is a nice little spot to hang out in. The menu and look of the place caught our attention and didn't disappoint. The staff are very nice and the owner, Yenne, was very welcoming and helpful and we would now consider her a friend. Yenne made it possible for us to sample a wide variety of Filipino food during our time in Coron and Busuanga, which was a great way to immerse ourselves in the culture in a part of the island full of locals. We went there almost every day to grab a Bubble tea while we worked on our laptops. We were also lucky enough to be invited to Yenne's family lake house, Sugod Dimachikchik. Her family is soo welcoming and we spent the day with them trying more local dishes on their balsa (bamboo raft), taking in the beautiful views, and enjoying the peacefulness of nature while kayaking/canoeing.
Be sure to check the place out and ask about their little paradise...
Read moreNice food and delicious shakes with a lot to choose from for fair prices. The place is cozy, people are really friendly, the downstairs area has comfortable seating but I recommend upstairs where you can either sit at a counter and enjoy watching people pass by or relax in some really comfortable lounge chairs. There are also some fans around to keep you cool. We went there two days in a row, the second day the chef wasn't in so we couldn't get any food, only drinks. Went to a different place for food but came back to get shakes as a dessert. I can recommend the strawberry, creme brulee and cookie shakes but honestly, they're all probably excellent. The lemonade was also great and so were the buffalo wings. One negative: there was quite a bit of time between the serving of my food and my girlfriend's. I wouldn't mind waiting a bit longer for both orders to arrive around...
Read moreI don't normally write reviews, but the strawberry Ice milk from Apellido was potentially one of the best things I've ever had in my life. The owner was very kind to let me use the restroom located in her residence. When I was there, her parents invited me into their dining room and asked if I wanted to sample some local fruits. Her father taught me how to peel and eat a jackfruit. It was such a wholesome, authentic moment and turned a stop for a snack into a...
