My recent visit to Chachu Tapsilugan left me with mixed feelings. On one hand, I have to commend the staff; they were genuinely courteous, attentive, and carried themselves with a level of professionalism that’s increasingly rare in casual dining spots. From the moment I stepped in to the moment I left, they were warm, welcoming, and eager to assist. If I were rating purely based on service, they would easily earn top marks. The team is, without a doubt, the epitome of excellent customer service.
Unfortunately, my experience with the food was the complete opposite. It pains me to say this, but no amount of friendly service can offset the disappointing quality of what was served. The rice alone set a poor tone; it tasted stale, as though it had been sitting around far too long to be considered fresh. Things only worsened with the sisig, which was one of the most unappetizing versions I’ve ever encountered. It was overwhelmingly dry and severely under-seasoned. The composition was also baffling; roughly half of it was just fat, another third was tough, chewy pig skin, and the remaining meat was sparse and lacked any depth of flavor. Topping it all off with raw green chili and onion only added a harshness that clashed with the already unpleasant texture.
As for the buttered fried chicken, it was yet another disappointment. The flavor was flat, the chicken tasted like it had been fried in old oil, and it lacked even basic seasoning. Instead of a crisp, buttery delight, what arrived at the table was a greasy, uninspired dish that I honestly struggled to finish.
If there’s one redeeming element from the menu, it would be the apple lemonade. It was refreshing, well-balanced, and honestly the only thing I enjoyed during the meal.
In summary, while Chachu Tapsilugan shines in terms of service and staff demeanor, the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. It’s rare to find such exceptional hospitality, but for a restaurant to succeed, the food must at least match the effort put into the customer experience. Sadly, that wasn’t...

We had also eaten in their former location which was smaller and al fresco. It was Valentine's and they had a freebie cupcake, if I remember correctly.
What we always order here are the pancit (fave is canton, delish), danggitsilog and lemonade. Sometimes we dine in, other times takeout.
There is toilet (no soap in handwash sink).
Airconditioned. With monitor playing music. Polite staff, greeted me upon entry.
