First impression of the place is very good. Classy and the panoramic view of the city is best enjoyed at night.
Service: was a downer. First, arrived and didn't know who to approach, only by calling a server did my friend and I know that we can choose our own table, no front desk or reception (first impression left us wondering if it was largely for reservations). Most disappointing is that servers don't tell you when you want your dessert served. We ordered a banana split and a brownie with ice cream on top, now, it was served with our main courses and left it melting to a beverage when we finished our plates, truly a waste of good ice cream. I do believe it was our fault that we did not inform our server, so I recommend all to tell the servers to serve deserts after dinner, don't be like us. Note: For unavailable orders or sold out orders, servers do not tell you until they confirm with the kitchen staff so our food took a while to be served because twice our chosen orders were unavailable, to the point we finished our dinner three hours from when we first arrived.
Food: We ordered Boscaiola (white sauce pasta: cream, bacon, mushroom, onion), Spaghetti Mozzarella (tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil), Calamares, Lemon chicken, Strawberry shake, watermelon shake, Banana split, and brownie with Vanilla Ice cream. Both pastas as great, Al Dente. Boscaiola is creamy while Spaghetti Mozzarella is tangy from the tomato sauce, only has a sprinkle of Mozzarella so no stretch. Calamares is rubbery, batter easily separates from the squid. Seems like an old batch. Not a very pleasant experience chewing for a long time. trying to take a bite. Okay tartar sauce and serving size is good. Lemon chicken is suprisingly flavorful, tangy with the lemon and boneless fillet has a slight crisp. Fruit shakes are good. Basic strawberry and watermelon. Watermelon has no seeds which is a relief. Deserts are a disappointment, did not get to enjoy as it was a puddle when we finished our main courses. Basic flavors are available: Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate, and Ube, truthfully tastes like Selecta. Brownie is fudgy and moist, a must have with NOT melted ice cream.
Overall: Fix service please, afterall the restaurant charges 10% plus...

My visit to Mr A Restaurant turned out to be an utter disappointment as I never even got the chance to dine in. The lack of attention and care from the staff left me and my party frustrated and ultimately forced us to seek a dining experience elsewhere.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, there was no warm welcome or any acknowledgement of our presence. We stood awkwardly at the entrance, hoping that someone would attend to us, but it seemed like we were invisible to the staff. Despite several staff members being visible, they were all busy chatting among themselves, completely oblivious to the guests standing at the door.
We tried to catch the eye of a passing staff member, but our attempts were in vain. It felt as though we were interrupting their social gathering rather than being welcomed into a reputable dining establishment. After waiting for what felt like an eternity, it became clear that nobody was interested in attending to us.
Feeling ignored and dejected, we finally gave up and decided to leave. It was disheartening to witness such a lack of professionalism and courtesy from the restaurant's staff. A restaurant's success heavily relies on the first impression and hospitality they extend to their guests, but Mr A Restaurant failed miserably in this regard.
It is incredibly disappointing to have looked forward to dining at a supposedly reputable restaurant, only to be turned away by the apathy and negligence of its staff. We had been excited to try the food that we had heard good things about, but unfortunately, the subpar service prevented us from experiencing the culinary delights that Mr A Restaurant might have offered.
I would strongly advise others to think twice before considering Mr A Restaurant for their dining plans. A restaurant that cannot even bother to entertain its guests is clearly not worth anyone's time or hard-earned money. This was an evening wasted, and I can only hope that the management takes necessary steps to address these issues and improve the overall experience for future patrons. Until then, I will be taking my...
Read moreVisited in April '25 with family after visiting TOPS. As we were driving up, we saw a sign for Mr. A which was tucked away from the main road.
They have an extensive menu which has a good mix between Filipino, Chinese and Italian. Their portions vary! Which can be great for sharing meals as some dishes are massive as is the case for their Lomi/Calamari. If you're with a big group of people, this restaurant can get pricey real fast. They tack on a 10% service charge on your bill.
The restaurant is sizable and they have powerful speakers. Other patrons were singing karaoke which we thought was off-putting; especially during dinner. A live band or performer, sure. But maybe singing patrons can be tucked away in a private, karaoke room. I know folk love being a main character; but sometimes you just want an easygoing dinner where you can actually hear people at your table.
The ambiance was alright, they had led lamps which you need to read their menu as it was pitch black. Mosquitoes were also feasting during dinner; we recommend switching the lighting to warm/yellow as the cool/blue light seemed to attract them.
I have to say, this is probably one of the best pizzas I have had in Cebu! It is very authentic, and tastes fresh (not a pre-made frozen pizza!). Bit of a trek to get to if not in the area but would be keen to bring my partner and friends when we find ourselves...
