This Shakey's store never fails to amaze me.
I came in at around lunchtime and the place was brimming full. The service crew asked if I was willing to wait. While comfortably seated at the long bench, she took my order: a Super Bunch of Lunch, Mojos and Dip, and a bottomless iced tea upgrade.
I was client #2 at the queue. The wait time wasn't really that long. Maybe 5 minutes more or less. I was eventually seated at a vacant table.
My iced tea came first. Awesome! Still the best super brew in the entire Metro Dagupan.
My green salad came next (component dish of the Super Bunch of Lunch combo). It was outstanding fresh. The deep brilliant green Romaine leaves were of the highest quality. The cucumber slices were likewise phenomenal. The olive oil drizzle had a deconstructed taste where the strong sour olive flavor had been tempered down to suit Filipino taste buds. I didn't mind. It was still delicious even though I really love the strong sour olive flavor. 😁
After a quick while, my Mojos and dip was served. The potato chips were crunchy on the outside and juicy tender inside. Mojos were smoking hot delicious!
Then came the main dish: a bowl of soup, 2 slices of Hawaiian pizza, a small jungle of spaghetti twirls with garlic bread, and Shakey's fried chicken with 2 pieces of Mojos.
I started with the soup. Man, that soup was epic great.
I knocked down the pizza slices second. With some drops of the hot sauce, the mouthful journey from the tip to the end made the triangular bread quite enjoyable.
I moved forward to the spaghetti and garlic bread next.
This is the spaghetti flavor I like best: tomato-sour Italian spaghetti with just a subtle hint of Filipino sweetness. I'm NOT a big fan of the super sweet Jollibee spaghetti. 😉
Finally, the fried chicken. I was disappointed.
Really.
I was looking forward to that unique oregano taste that was trademark Shakey's and some idiot in the kitchen decided to change the recipe that regular Shakey's customers LOVE.
The only redeeming value of the fried chicken was its crunchy-on-the-outside-and-juicy-tender-inside bite quality.
In summary, the service crew team remains exceptional. While the Shakey's fried chicken now sucks, the quality of the food...

Short story: Outrageously long wait times, worst tasting pizza crust I've ever had the displeasure of eating.
Long story: I will preface this by saying I've had Shakey's dozens of times all around the Philippines with little to no issue. I (normally) love Shakey's and even seek it out when craving pizza.
I showed up to this restaurant at 4:20pm to place an order for take-out. There wasn't anyone at the front host stand, so I walked into the half-full restaurant and stood there looking for an employee to talk to. After a few minutes, I was able to stop an employee and request to order for take out. She had me sit down at a table and handed me a menu. I waited another 5 minutes before stopping another employee and asked if I can place my order. She told me to hold on, so I again waited. 5-10 minute passed before a 3rd employee came and asked for my order. 2 pizzas, that's it. She said 20-30 minutes wait. No problem.
After waiting about 30 minutes, a 4th employee came up to me and asked me to move outside because a large group had shown up. No problem. I move to the front of the restaurant, then head out to wait on the bench. Over an hour after I had placed my order, I stood up looking to see if my order was maybe on the counter. An employee came up to me as I stood up and said they're wrapping up my order now. 1 hour and 15 minutes after placing my take-out order, I received my 2 pizzas.
After a 15 minute drive home, I opened up my pizzas and found that they were both barely warm. Not ideal, but I was hungry, and I am not picky at all when it comes to pizza. Never in my life have I had a more bland tasting pizza. I smothered my slice in hot sauce, as I always do, which still didn't help with the overpowering blandness of the crust. Gummy, tasteless, undercooked crust. The cheese barely melted. Zero stars.
A huge disappointment and absolutely not...
Read moreFood usually very good and atmosphere i love comming here as i am local to the area. Everytime i come back from united kingdom this is a place i never miss to visit. Unfortunately today as i was on my own and thought 1st time ill takeaway. Which i usually dine in with other people i associate with. Anyway i ordered my usual deep pan pizza managers special to takeaway. I waited and waited people came and gone others takeaway others dine inn. There was 1 family table who sat right across me they were very happy family. I ordered lemonade to freshen up after shopping at supermarket while waiting. Cut story short 30mins later just for 1 pizza i ask how long will my pizza take. A waiter said another 10mins. Thats the family sitting across me eating their lovely meal and i felt i was forgotten. I have never experienced this kinda wait just for a pizza. If i was told your pizza would take 40 to 60mins i would have came back for it. I did ask just right after i gave my order how long will it take. Waitress or a manager as she was wearing blue with glasses different from other uniform. She reply 20 to 25mins sir politely so i ordered lemonade while i wait. Anyway i left without the pizza and gave tips as i was served lemonade in time and it was fabulous. I hope that no1 will wait for a pizza in shakes parlor csi locao for that long unless they are in formed it would take that long. Ill make that money back anyway wat i paid for a pizza but i hope they sort out the service. Oh incase any1 ask yes i paid to the pizza right after i ordered which i never got as i left after i was told abother 10mins 30mins later. Now i just edited as i am having macdo instead.
