Best Restaurant in Panglao Island, Bohol, Philippines - Sicily excels in both taste and service!

My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sicily Italian Cuisine and Woodfire Pizzas, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. Nestled in a charming place with a decent space of carpark, this restaurant combines the warmth of Italian hospitality with the tantalizing flavors of authentic woodfire pizzas. From the moment my family and I stepped in, I knew we were in for a treat.

The ambiance at Sicily Italian Cuisine is inviting and cozy, with rustic decor that transports you straight to the heart of Sicily, Italy. The soft lighting and comfortable seating create a relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for enjoying a memorable family meal. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and were attentive throughout our visit visit, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional - the reason why our family since our first try, we came there for dinner lunch or dinner every day in our entire holiday in Bohol.

My family and I had the pleasure of trying their Margherita pizza, and it was an absolute delight. The simplicity of the ingredients allowed the quality and freshness to shine through, leaving me craving for more.

I can say so many possitive things about this restaurant and only one negative item.

First of all I need to be totally fair and honest and say the food is absolutely awesome...the staff is friendly and provided great service and the atmophere and ambiance of the restaurant are relaxing and allow for a peaceful dining experience and the prices were good. I would certainly consider dining here again...and then my quiet, peaceful dinner was tragically interupted by the horrible smell of cigarette smoke!

When I looked around, I found 4 seperate people at 2 different tables puffing away on cigarettes! They were not seated in another area, but right side by side with my table. I am medically alergic to smoke and this caused me great distress.

First of all, I don't mind if people choose to smoke...that is their personal right. However, they should not be allowed to push their nasty habit on others who do not want to suck toxic fumes into their lungs, such as myself, who is restricted by medical reasons.

Secondly, the owners and management should at least post signs warning innocent guests that they may possibly be consumed by this health hazard without any advance warning. I diligently searched the entire restaurant for any posted signs, and none were found as you can clearly see in my posted pictures and videos.

Thirdly, I thought it was illegal to allow smoking in "any" public place, so I checked the current Philippine Laws and YES, this is true and correct! Smoking is prohibitted in any and all public gathering places, especially in restaurants where guest will be seated in one location for longer periods of time while reading menu's, ordering food, waiting for the food to be prepared and served, consuming beverages and cuisine and paying for your meal after completion. (Typically, most people will be in a restaurant for at least an hour to an hour and a half or more). That is an eternity when you are medically restricted from breathing such toxins. Plus, the Law further states that such public places shall provide a seperate, designated smoking area far from other guests to avoid any health issues. I did not see any such designated area on the property.

To recap...you could not ask for a nicer, more charming restaurant serving absolutely great authentic Italian cuisine and located in the Philippines! The food was truly awesome. However, be aware that "IF" you have an issue with toxic, unhealthy cigarette smoke invading the peaceful dinning experience of your friends or family or young children, consider other options or at least request the staff to seat you far away from the smokers who frequent this establishment.

If I ever do return to dine at this establishment, I will certainly ask the staff to seat me in a safe location and require that they do not allow any smokers to invade my space while I am present.
