Munch Island — Restaurant in El Nido

During my recent visit to Munch Island, I had the pleasure of enjoying their signature Mushroom Burger and fries, all while soaking in a stunning view of the ocean. The combination of delicious food and a breathtaking setting made for an unforgettable dining experience.

Ambiance: The restaurant boasts a relaxed, beachside atmosphere with outdoor seating that offer panoramic views of the ocean. The sound of the waves and the fresh sea breeze added to the overall charm.

Mushroom Burger: The Mushroom Burger was outstanding. The beef patty was juicy and flavorful, topped generously with sautéed mushrooms that added a rich, umami depth. Swiss cheese melted perfectly over the mushrooms. The bun was toasted to perfection, providing the right balance of softness and structure.

Fries: The fries were excellent—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. They were served hot and fresh, making them an ideal side to the savory burger.

View: The highlight of the dining experience was undoubtedly the view. I enjoyed the sight of the ocean waves gently crashing against the shore, with the horizon stretching endlessly. The serene ocean view enhanced the overall enjoyment of the meal.

The staff were great and answered all our questions.

I saw the reviews, and I had to try it myself. I would say I’m a burger fanatic. Living in London I regularly eat burgers. So much so that I follow Burger of the Year, and ensure I eat there. Eat at the top 20 burger places in London. I can’t emphasise how much I eat live and breathe burgers.

This place however, skyrocketed how great a smash burger can be and I’m sad cause I’m forever changed but how amazing the flavour was, the softness of the beef, the cheese and the bread. It’s like every part of the burger was thought about and made to taste great. I’m genuinely gutted I’m leaving El Nido soon and I found out about this place last minute. 🥲💗

This is a simple but very cute place, mind your head if you are a bitt tall and entering from the beach. We were here 2 times when stayed in El Nido for a week, kids asked to go a 2nd time and we were happy to come along 🙂 We had smash burgers both times, if you have not tried smash before you should and you don't want a normal burger after that. I tried both smash both were very nice but I like the spicier jalapeno a bit more. Wife took 2 different burgers with chicken and liked them as well. Fries are crispy and nice but perhaps there should be a bit more of them. Order extra if you like. Including some good...
