To begin, I initially attempted to book the apartment through Airbnb and contacted the host to inquire about the possibility of obtaining a discount. The host agreed to provide a discount if I paid in cash, but then diverted the conversation to Instagram. Unaware that hosts could offer different or special deals through the Airbnb booking system, I agreed to proceed with the off-site arrangement.

Upon entering the apartment, I discovered that the refrigerator was broken, which resulted in me suffering from food poisoning. Additionally, there was a construction site adjacent to the apartment, severely compromising our privacy. The workers were constantly present outside, and I strongly suspect that they even caught glimpses of me naked. Furthermore, the apartment had a significant mosquito problem, and I was left covered in bites throughout my body.

When I attempted to address these issues with the host, they disclaimed any responsibility and refused to acknowledge the problems. It is evident to me that I fell victim to a deliberate scam, leaving me feeling helpless and taken advantage of.

This villa is now one of our favourite places to stay in El Nido. The price is very reasonable for the space; it even had a small backyard grill and a fully equipped kitchen, both of which came handy since the roads were a bit difficult. The area is quiet and faces outwards into a rice field. Although some locals pass by, it still feels secluded and safe. The bedrooms had air conditioning that actually worked.
