First, the staff is amazing! As we walked in the staff greeted and welcomed us as if we were part of their family. They speak English, Kapampangan (local dialect), and Tagalog (national language of the Philippines.) When asked for food recommendations, all their suggestions was considered and we ordered it. The food was delicious and well presented. It didnāt take long to get our food...approximately 20 minutes. After eating, the staff asked if we want to take home the rest of the leftovers and packed it up for us. This is a plus, because most restaurants give you bags/boxes and let you do it yourself. Hospitality and courtesy of the staff is 100% five-star rating for me. Food thatās another 5-star rating. My one complaint is the road going in and out of the restaurant is narrow and should be widened to allow both inbound and outbound traffic to pass. Other than that, they serve local delicacies that are delicious and the staff is awesome at their jobs. Thank you and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had lunch at Apag Marangle for Fatherās Day. The place was surprisingly not packed. The ambiance feels like your rich titaās ancestral house; spacious, chill, and kind of fancy without trying too hard.
The food? Solid. You can really taste the Kapampangan flavors. I even tried the fried crickets and it was good. The humba and pako salad were the real stars (that vinaigrette hits different). The halo-halo was forgettable.
The price is on the expensive side, and the servings arenāt exactly pang-fiesta. For that kind of money, I hope they upgrade their comfort room. At least make it spacious, and comfy. After eating that much, someoneās bound to need a proper CR for serious business.
On the bright side, parkingās easy as there are lots of spaces and street parking too.
Overall, itās a lovely spot for a special meal if youāre after good and authentic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy cousin in-law John took us to the amazing place, Apag Marangle, bringing up exotic dishes in conversation from a long drive starting from Camaya Coast. I thought he was kidding at first... what? crispy crickets? frog legs? Are you kidding me?
Hesitant at first, and when in Rome, right? Let's do this, I took a bite of the cripsy crickets and sure enough it wasn't anything that I imagined. I actually enjoyed it along with the frog's leg.
All other traditional Filipino meals were something to die for, including the yummiest Leche Flan. Wow!!!
The only critic I can saw is watch out for a rocking dining table, it wasn't pleasant to eat on.
The staff were friendly and efficient in their service. We appreciated their suggestions, like 'it'll take 20 minutes', at least we know what and when to expect it.
You...
