This day we went to Avodah Restaurant for dinner. It wasn’t our first time, we’ve eaten here many times already. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were no vacant tables that could accommodate 11 people. The only option was two separate tables for 5 and 6 persons. We suggested combining the two tables (since we’ve done this before during my birthday and also saw that other tables were combined as well). However, the waiter told us it was not allowed anymore due to a “new policy.” We were told, “Noon pwede, iba na ngayon,” so we just accepted it and stayed.
Later, when our meals were served, some of my relatives suggested we transfer outside since they had coughs and didn’t want to disturb other diners. We asked the waiter if we could move outside, but he said, “Ma’am as you can see, sa policy po bawal mag-transfer ng food outside because nakaka-disturb daw.” Honestly, I was shocked. There were no customers outside, so who exactly were we disturbing? They could have at least tried to understand our situation.
It was really disappointing, because for the first time in this restaurant, we felt that customer concerns were not a priority. In Cebu, most restaurants really do their best to accommodate requests, especially when it comes to customer comfort. Sadly, in this case, the staff didn’t even try. Instead of finding a way, they just pointed at “the rules.” If only they said, “Wait ma’am, I’ll ask my manager first if it’s possible,” at least we’d feel they tried. But no effort was made.
Another sad part: the staff didn’t feel welcoming at all. No smiles, just frowns, as if customers were a burden. I know they may be busy or stressed, but even a simple smile could’ve made us stay in a better mood. Instead, the aura was like, “Too many rules here, if you can’t adjust, then go eat somewhere else.” That’s not how a favorite restaurant should make their loyal customers feel.
We really used to love coming here whenever we visited Iligan City, but this experience was disheartening. I sincerely hope the management improves staff hospitality and flexibility. At the end of the day, it’s the customers that keep the...
Read moreNestled in the heart (or in this case, the hillsides) of Iligan City, Avodah Kitchen offers a dining experience that truly stands out. With its absolutely mesmerizing panoramic views and upscale ambiance, this restaurant has quickly become a go-to destination for food enthusiasts and social media aficionados alike.
The menu at Avodah Kitchen is diverse and thoughtfully crafted, featuring an array of options from pasta dishes to crisp salads and artisanal pizzas. Although in my personal opinion, wala juy makalupig sa kalami sa ilang sisig which has a very slight hint of Ilocano flavor. What sets this establishment apart is the consistency in quality – regulars like me have never left the place unsatisfied.
Beyond the food, Avodah Kitchen excels in creating a holistic dining experience. The staff is noted for their friendliness and attentiveness, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and well-cared for throughout their visit.
The restaurant's atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between classy and inviting, making it suitable for both special occasions and casual outings (I personally think the former is better done indoors, and the latter, done al fresco)
One cannot overlook the visual appeal of Avodah Kitchen. Its interior design and plating aesthetics make it a haven for Instagram enthusiasts, so ayaw mo pangadto og lowbat mo kay kamo ray maguol.
While the restaurant gives off an air of luxury, the overall experience justifies any premium pricing. Avodah Kitchen doesn't just serve meals; it creates memories, setting a HIGH BAR (!) for dining establishments in the area. It might not even be an overstatement to say that other local establishments have rushed improving their food and ambiance solely due to the standard that Avodah has quickly set in a span of a year.
Whether you're a local or a visitor to the city, Avodah Kitchen should be on your must-visit list. With its combination of exquisite food, attentive service, and stunning ambiance, it's no wonder that satisfied customers are eager to return and spread the word about this...
