Sunburst Restaurant — Restaurant in Iligan

I still believe that Sunburst is the house that fried chicken built! It is an institution! But i am referring to the original restaurants in Iligan city, cebu and manila before they became a franchise. My memories of the old Sunburst (iligan branch) has always been delicious and good. I think most forty-something and older folks do. I've been to this particular store three times already and i must say in all those occasions, it is good! I can give it five stars if the service was good but it was only "so-so" . I went by myself and more often the staff almost always neglect you for a table of 4-6 or more people, which i fully understand. So that's ok. I will talk less about the food because as always,.. It is consistently good eating! Always satisfying! Although on the pricey side. I don't mind paying more as long as i get bigger portions. Management please take note because at times those birds are really small. Also, i wish sunburst will retain that particularly "sunburst fried chicken smell" in both their food and stores because that's what loyal customers remember and look for! I especially would like to mention that the Iligan restaurant is always clean and well kept. I like the ambient feel. Parking is not a problem. Wheelchair, no problem! Just come hungry and those chicken will do their magic! I always loved fried chicken. And when overcame with craving, i always find myself on my way to Sunburst! It is not just fried chicken, it's a time machine! Because when you bite into a sunburst fried chicken, it brings you back memories of good food and good times! And only Sunburst fried chicken taste and smell like sunburst fried chicken!!

We ordered pandan, ube shake, large fish fillet mixed veges & 2 drumsticks with rice. Everything was ok (not amazing for the price), but the chicken was so disappointing. It tasted like it was cooked in oil that was used so many times & is starting to burn and both pieces were really small. I told the waiter and they changed the chicken. Not the Sunburst Iligan city used to have. My parents used to go to the best fried chicken in the city, it was in Sunburst. Their chicken was authentic and tasted like no other.
