We came here âcoz of d great reviews. With the taxi driverâs help, we were able to get to the place without problem. Getting out requires a little walk to the main road to flag a taxi (Booking with Grab car saves you this trouble). Itâs a cheap hole in the wall place that served passable food. The molo is served warm, a bit salty for our taste. Would have been best eaten with a cup of steamed rice. Unfortunately, they do not serve rice. Thus, we backed out of ordering the rellenong bangus dish. The shanghai lumpia is served hot n crispy. Dipped in the sukang puti removed the oily taste. Sinamak dip may have been a better option. The so called âfreshâ lumpia was a downer for us. It was served cold wrapped in damped wax paper with d actual lumpia wrapper soggy n broken up in the center n dried up crisps on the edges. It wasnât worth wasting a photo capture. The puto is the highlight of this place. Of all these dishes we tried, the puto may be what will convinced me to come back again. All in all, it appeased our curiosity...
Read moreI have witnessed how Kap Ising's pancit molo place has grown to be an Iloilo icon. Kap (because he's the barangay captain) Ising's house is also his small dumplings soup factory. They call by landline in advance, then carry in their own metal pots for their steaming pancit molo order to add to their celebration (esp. fiestas) or meetings. Because of its exposure in social media (googlemap and fb), and tv (Jessica Soho), visitors walk in thinking there is a resto there. So Kap Ising started serving pancit molo by the bowl and also lumpia ubod and empanada-- all products of the Hokkien chinese heritage in Molo. For convenience, Kap Ising set up a pancit molo kiosk this...
Read moreThe place is a bit difficult to find as the taxi drivers and jeepney drivers are not familiar with it.
Their molo is the best! A single serve of molo soup has about 6 pieces and 1 order of lumping Shanghai has 10 pieces. Their lumpia goes well with suka. Also, don't expect a dining area with aircon and all because they don't have that, they have tables and chairs outside the house which serves as the dining area for guests.
Kap Esing's famous line: âBecause you haven't been to Iloilo if you haven't tried Kap Ising's...
