Some positives. Under perfect circumstances and better service, the place would be perfect. Traditional building + modern touch + premium feels when you sit there. But...
It's all hype.
I went there around 3 to 4 PM and sat at their outdoor seats. Highway was noisy. The sound of the saw machine from the lumber store nextdoor is noisy. Also, I think they're trying to raise the cafe music to beat the other noises, but it made the ambience even more stressful. Haven't tried the tables inside the building.
I tried to look for a table, found 2 vacant ones, none was cleaned or bashed out although they have many staffs flocking on tables taking pictures of the customers. Although it's good that they really just wanna keep the hype up, but not at the cost of the real service they ought to provide.
I ordered karaage chicken and the cheese latte. I was pointing at the hot section of the coffee but was served the iced version. I guess that's forgivable, misunderstanding happens. I still asked it be replaced with the hot version tho. The cheese in there is cheesecake. I had to ask. It's a new mix for me, but it tasted good. But it was too sweet because they already put the sugar in the cup. I always expect the sugar would be separated. The chicken was mildly undercooked. I couldn't finish eating it.
Staff staff staff. They have many. They serve the orders relatively quick. So that's good. But they can trained more. Some of them seem like they don't know what they're doing. And a lot of them tends to focus on picture taking than real service.
Do I recommend this coffee shop? No. But feel free to go. 😊
Update: they improved. Staff became more accommodating and friendlier. They provide extra stuff if...
Read moreInterior design and layout of the cafe were great. They did a good job of re-purposing and revitalizing an old mansion. There is an air conditioned area and the tables were taken. The open area under the trees were cool enough despite the heat. As for the coffee, it's okay. I wish their non-coffee drinks were less sweet. Didn't get a chance to try their karaage and sandwiches. Their gyoza was multi-colored, which was a nice surprise. After a few bites, though, didn't find the taste all that remarkable, i.e. neither bad nor great. Water is self-service. The servers were quick to fulfill requests, although it took some time to get their...
Read moreNice and aesthetic cafe. However, I had high expectations due to the reviews but their coffee was just okay. My husband ordered their Americano and it wasn’t really as strong as we hope it would be. I ordered Latte and I can taste the milk more than the coffee. Food was ok as well. Had the Japanese pancake and the serving was big but it’s a little silly to include bacon as part of the plating and only serve literally just one piece of bacon. It wasn’t even that long. If you’re here for photos then it’s a good place but for a real coffee enthusiast, I don’t...
