I've been in this place before and we had a real good time, but what happened tonight was outrageous and heartbreaking. We sat down at our place, ordered some food and chatted when we heard a soft mewing of a cat. We then found out that the sound came from a small bag that was put on top of a cage next to our place. The bag moved. Quite shocked we realized that there was a cat inside! Even more shocking when the bag moved more and fell off the cage on the ground. I asked personnel for explanation of this but I didn't get any, as if no one cared. After asking a second waiter what this was all about, he offered to remove the bag. Some minutes later a girl came and, without saying a word, took the bag and walked away. We had enough and left straight away. This is animal cruelty. Cats don't belong in too small bags without people even caring. At a certain moment it rained so hard, it's painful to imagine the stress the cat had. And for what?? Why put a cat in a too small bag and don't care? Sorry Charina's, I had a very good time before but this terrible experience left me with anger and a bad feeling. A great find in Santiago! It's pleasantly surprising to discover a food haven like Charina's. They're open from 9AM to 12 midnight. A must-try are their grilled dishes may it be fish, chicken or pork. This is "real" food for a change! Hehe... not the mall type or the fastfood type of food. The taste is just about right--not salty or MSG (monosodium glutamate) laden food. Even the veggies in the chop suey is better than in most restos. A must-try are their fruit shakes which have real fruits in them! =) Very delicious at very affordable prices. The food, though, are a bit pricey but it's worth it. Another plus are their very clean wash rooms. They have quiet an extensive menu. I've attached the photos of the menu and prices in this review. It's easy to find the place because it's right beside Robinson's Mall. It may take more than 20 minutes before the food is served, so this is not the place for you if you are in a hurry.
