A Wonderful Culinary Find in Koronadal City!
After an exhilarating day of colour, culture, and festivity at the T'nalak Festival, we were fortunate enough to discover a refreshing gem within the heart of Koronadal City - the newly opened Taverne Cafe & Bar. With its warm ambiance, exceptional service, and divine cuisine, this spot has quickly become one of my favourites!
To start, we ordered a variety of appetizers, each of which exceeded our expectations. The Caesar's Salad with Bacon was crisp and refreshing, with a tangy dressing that complemented the smokiness of the bacon perfectly. The Spinach Dip, served piping hot, was rich and creamy, with the right hint of garlic that paired beautifully with the crunchy toast.
Their Fish Cooked in Paper, a healthy and delicious option, was a delightful surprise. The fish was tender and flaky, bursting with flavors infused from the herbs and lemon. The Truffle Pasta was absolutely mouthwatering, the aromatic truffle oil was subtle yet indulgent, with the al dente pasta perfectly coated with the velvety sauce.
The Bagnet Guinamos was a knockout! The pork was perfectly crispy and the fermented shrimp paste gave it a unique and savory kick. As for the Stuffed Buffalo Wings, they were spicy, tangy, and sweet all at once, a flavorful medley that tantalizes the palate.
Our servers, Cris and Arnel, deserve special commendation. Their attentiveness, professionalism, and keen knowledge of the menu contributed significantly to our stellar dining experience. Not to mention, their dessert recommendations were spot on!
Arnel suggested we try the Banana Noffee Cream Pie and the Durian Creme Brulee. The former was a delightful twist on the classic with a rich caramel flavor that was balanced perfectly by the banana. The Durian Creme Brulee was an adventurous choice, but if you're a durian lover like us, it's a must-try! It was creamy, decadent, and the durian flavor was not too overpowering.
Overall, our experience at Taverne Cafe & Bar was nothing short of spectacular. From the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the exceptional service, it's a place you wouldn't want to miss when in Koronadal City. We are already looking forward to...
Read moreWe were looking for a place to have lunch after visiting some places in the city, We didn't plan on going here so our outfits are just simple shirt pants and sandals, but they let us in without reservation, so i think it's all good but i didn't like how the staff/waitress treated us first we are just browsing the menu and deciding what to order and we are just discussing just suddenly waitress go on our table and ask if we will order already and i can sense her grumpy tone and making us hurry on what to order ,we didn't call her as we are not ready to order but since she is already at our table we are asking about the things in the menu and waitress cannot answer directly our questions regarding menu, we are just asking about the menu and she write it already on our order and when we are ordering she said that we already got 3 drinks, we said that we just ask about it earlier but her tone regarding it was not pleasing and grumpy towards us but we let it slide and order ,wait for our food, after a while a family entered they are all well dressed long sleeves, nice dresses and the waitress greeted them and guided them with a great smile on her face which we didn't experienced from her and she communicated with them with a nice tone , so okay we were just in shirts and sandals ,sorry for not preparing to come and meet the standard dress code for your eyes.
Overall the place was great, food was good and just the service needs an improvement

Read moreThe place was quite more than what I expected. Place was well decorated in good taste. Choice of tablewares and colour palettes of the wall and decors speaks of the owners (expensive taste) well travelled background and love of casual to fine dining. There is a subdued decadence that does not make a person alienated. Makes you feel welcome without that in your face exclusivity we might feel sometimes in a fine dining restaurant. Homey and classy is how I put it. Perfect for date with your friends, family and love one. Food was very good, savoury and enjoyable. Some flavours and twist on the menu might be new to the palate (wishing some of the food were flavoured differently) but the portions are equal to the price point. Menu offers can still be elevated with additional homey delicacies. Topping the experience of dining in these modest and top of it’s class restaurant (around the area) are the excellent service done by it’s employees. Friendly, knowledgeable and enagaging. They make the dining experience feel special. Worth every penny 👌
Little recommendation: Appetizers and drinks should always/must be served way ahead of the main course to cleanse the pallete and prepare the stomach. Pork knuckle’s could still be fried a bit more for...
