So my friend was gushing about this newly opened cafe near our place. We went there and indeed, atmosphere wise, it looked great. It's toilet, I bet, is way more expensive than the trash place I call home. Moving on, there were no available table for us, as we were group of five. After looking around and waiting for around five minutes, one waiter assisted us which was fine to me since everybody's busy at that time. Nevertheless, 3 unfinished plates of carbonara didn't escape our attention so we discussed to avoid ordering it. Still, I don't know how fate has played us, but folks we got us a three order of carbonara, when we opted for "creamy sausage pasta". What a twist of events indeed. Turns out, my pregnant friend and the cashier had a misunderstanding. I wouldn't blame both parties. What's wrong with these carbonara? It's too creamy and it's cook is used to unsalty meals, resulting to this unlikeable poor excuse of a pasta. We're not gonna waste money right? So off we go to the counter to get some salt and plack pepper. And oh, the pesto my Baak friend got tasted like a wild plant. Not sure, but I think they used fresh basil leaves, nevertheless I won't eat it.
My friends went back after a few weeks, and they ordered the ramen soup and folks, I tell you, it was not their cup of tea. The both of them as they were about to leave and while the waiter was clearing their table, he told them, "Apay ngay nga haan yu inibus, nangina pay daytoy nga sabaw." Like duhhh?? You do not tell that to your customer. It was paid. Ken apay gamin met nga pangit raman na. Agala ak maysa timba nu adda kwartak ta idigus ko sango yu. Hehehe. Kidding aside, but yeah, you don't say that. To end this boring but very honest review, I think it's a hit or a miss. Drinks was...
Read moreJust after a shoot last Saturday, at the Mt. Yangbew, we headed to this cafe which was recommended by a friend of our HMUA,it was around 4:00 PM, so unfortunately some of their dishes, which we wanted to try were not available, the mango yogurt cheesecake, tonkatsu platter and the karage platter. And so we ordered karage sandwich, kiniing ramen, vegetable salad, carrot cake, chocolate cake and katsudon. Karage sandwich: 3.5/5 The chicken was so moist and it’s tasted good Vegetable Salad: 4/5 The vegetables were fresh and crispy sesame dressing was the highlight 🥳 Kiniing Ramen 🍜: 2.5/5 It’s delicious, smoky flavor, although the kiniing meat had bigger portions of fat than meat which made the dish cloying. Carrot cake: 2/5 Carrot cake is one of my favorite cakes in the world, for this cafe their carrot cake is not so good but not so bad, it is moist though. Chocolate cake: 5/5 Moist, not sweet, dark chocolate 🍫 yummy! 😋 Katsudon: 3/5 It was alright, great portions of meat and a whole lot of Japanese rice, which i really needed after a tiring hike at the mountain. It tasted good but not Yabu good 😊

Read moreQuick review: place is definitely easily spotted with their signages, accessed through the rear access road. Have great views of the mountains and clouds, have high ceiling interiors, spacious dining space w/ options of squatting, typical dining table, and al-fresco.. food have great serving size, online ordered what's seen on the photo below, however, the katsu really didn't have a great smell (I also cook my own food and I definitely know what a left behind pork smells like when it wasn't put straight into a freezer). Everything else, is great. But would like to come back for their other bowls, because it is in par with ramenagi prices or other famous ramen shops in Baguio. Overall, had a great time with friends and still coming...
