My visit to White House Bistro on March 18, 2023, was driven by the allure of the charming old stone Spanish-style house. However, I must admit that my dining experience left much to be desired. I had ordered the Sinigang na Salmon with high expectations, hoping for a beautifully presented dish. Unfortunately, it arrived looking more like food scraps than a thoughtfully crafted meal. The soup lacked the richness that makes Sinigang memorable – that perfect balance of sourness, fruity notes, and a hint of salt that Filipino taste buds crave. While the ambiance and the setting of the place are undeniably nice, my less-than-satisfactory dining experience makes me hesitant to return. Sometimes, the exterior beauty doesn't always match the culinary experience within.

We tried lumpiang shanghai, pansit and fried salmon. Food is good and it satisfies our hungry tummy. The staffs are courteous and friendly. Serving was fast as earlier customers already left when we arrived at 6pm. Our original plan is to go to another restaurant but we noticed that it’s crowded and so we decided to go to White House Bistro. The restaurant is clean and observing social distancing and government minimum protocols for COVID-19. If you want to go back in time and relax a bit, this would be a good choice.

The family run restaurant is in a charming historic house in the heart of Liliw. More than just a restaurant, this is a place where visitors and locals alike socialize and make friends, because of the welcoming atmosphere created by Chris amd Merian, the family that lived in this house and now open it up to others. All that without mentioning the food, which was the most delicious food I have eaten in the last 3 weeks in the Philippines.

Last March 28, 2024 my family decided to dine out and try the restaurants within the community, even-though we are Liliweños we haven’t dine out that much.

We decided to try this restaurant because of its beautiful ambiance not knowing that their food is so-so, little serving considering we are told that their food is good for sharing but in fact it can only be consumed by 1 person. The sinigang na salmon only has bits and pieces of veggies and fish and lots of soup. Their laing and bangus sisig is not tasty. Their drinks though were good.

Their service is very bad, their staff is accommodating at first but very rude in the long run. We had an incident that their staff accidentally doubled our order and called their attention. That staff suddenly got mad at us and complained that it will be charged to her if we don’t get it. The staff even complained that “pa isa isa kasi ng order eh.” First of all, its not our fault. Second, its part of the food and service industry, why need to complain? If that staff don’t want that, then don’t do that job. Their lady boss talked to us and apologized but we don’t know if its sincere. Considering we paid A LOT for their food, sayang pera. We are not tourists here, we also live in Liliw and we had bad experience in this resto.

Suggest to try other resto when you visit our...

From the entrance of the restaurant, I already felt the coldness from the staff and how they looked at us which made us feel uncomfortable and guided us on our table in a very unprofessional way, even the staff argued with us on why we didn't count properly the number of persons will dine in (though we went inside altogether). I also asked for an additional menu and the staff just pointed at me that it is located outside the restaurant and i need to bring it by myself. 🫣The food is okay but not worth the price. Overall, it was very unsatisfying and just ruined our...
