A month ago we visited and ordered a clam dish. More than half of clams are closed. Usually if clams are still closed after cooking, it means clams are dead and should be thrown away. So I told it to one of the staff. Then she brought the dish back to the kitchen. Astonishingly, she brought it back then with the same clams but forcefully opened them and served us. The clams were dead obviously and slim and tiny compared to healthy clams. More surprisingly she explained that the reason the clams were closed is because the clams were fresh and they were frozen so it’s safe to eat. I googled later found that closed cooked clams shouldn’t be eaten at all and causes food poisoning!
