Cocina En Acantilado — Restaurant in Oslob

We needed a restaurant who actually serves “real filipino meal” and not just a snack shop so we’re glad Cocina En Cantilado was close by. It was a few minutes away from the whale shark watching where we were prior so we definitely came in hungry lol

The restaurant was by the road so it was easy to spot. They also have parking space so that was convenient. Be aware that the restaurant is an open one so there is no air-conditioning but they did provide us with a fan which really helped from that hot July weather.

Some of the items on the menu were not available at that time like their pizzas but otherwise the rest of the filipino food were. The scallops were good but I guess it came a bit to buttery/margarine-y (lol) for me. Good nonetheless. The pork belly was tasty as usual but my favorite was the crispy pata which the staff mentioned was also one of their best sellers. Perfectly seasoned and cooked! Crispy and meaty at the same time. Writing about it is actually making me hungry.

There was one on the menu which was a tad too salty but i forgot which one it was. Anyway overall we had a good and filling meal which was what we were looking for. Clean space, good food, very nice staff and had a wonderful view of Oslob’s blue waters. Just be careful coz the “nest” is by the cliff, thus where they most likely got the restaurant name of...

The view is better than any other site within the area but the service is too poor to rate. My family and relatives went there yesterday (12.26.17) for a lunch and ordered as good for 20 people. Basically, we ordered a lot but the waiter assigned to us agree to deliver everything after 30 minutes.

Sadly, they are not able to deliver as being promised. They're only able to deliver few of our orders. Even the ice tea pitchers were not being delivered. Fortunately, we have soup to avoid any misfortunes in taking our meal. We asked the waiter how long we'll be waiting then he told us that the chef is taking his meal. We requested to deliver the meal for the kids and left the others be cancelled since we already waited one hour plus. Even the cancelling request took time to close since they told us that they're already starting working it out. But, we stand with our cancellation and paid for what's being delivered to us.

So, we left dissatisfied with there service. Hope they can improve...
