TLDR version: Food was good but the service was very poor and waiting for food was ridiculously long.
The food was good so I won't review about that. However I have an issue with their service. 2 of us went there on 7th April, Friday night and ordered 2 dishes and 1 mango shake. Firstly, it was a busy night and we entered the restaurant and just helped ourselves to find a table because nobody came to take us to the table. We sat for several minutes and still no waiter came to us with menu so we got to the counter and told them to give us the menu. And now we are ready to order but we waited over 20 minutes for the waiter to take our order, so eventually I had to walk up to them and told them we are ready to order. They seemed confused and asked where we were sitting and followed me to the table and then finally took our orders.
Again, we waited over 30 minutes and got 1 out 2 dishes we ordered....so i was thinking the 2nd dish would come out soon with the drink that i ordered too. I was Very Wrong.... in the end the 2nd dish came out 1 hour later after asking the waiter where our other dish was. And also the drink as well! Eventually we got the 2nd dish several mintues later and also gave us the news that our drink couldnt be served because there was no more ice.... they told us they couldnt make our drink after 2hours from ordering....2 Hours later! I also heard other table waiting for the same drink i ordered but it seems they werent told about it as well because the waiter went to the other table after 20 minutes since telling me they couldnt serve us the drink.
I understand it was busy and things can get chaotic. And it looked like chaos watching these 2 waiters running around panicking and chaotic and seemed like theres no good communication among the wait staff and kitchen staff.
They really need to work on their performance and management.
It's a shame we had bad experience because the place and...
Read moreSeverely understaffed. This results to the server missing an order. They could smile rather than looking so glum like they're some Jew working in a Nazi camp. Table arrangements are not optimized. They were willing to make you stand and wait there and didn't even bother offering a chair. They also grouped you together with other guests rather than rearranging the tables properly to accommodate the patrons. The pizza topping was seriously thin and didn't reach the edges, so at almost 300 pesos it was not worth it. The pepperoni was not cooked. The cheese was not even mozzarella, if it was, I feel it was adulterated. The trucks zooming by bothered me less than being discriminated for being the local among foreign patrons. That one star is for the pepper oil and the salt and pepper grinder.
I am coming back tonight though to see if last night was just a fluke..
Update:
I really did come back and guess what? It was worse than the previous night. It took more than 1 hour and a half to get our food. I was so hungry I started eating the salt and pepper.
The server did keep on apologizing but that was it.
The French owner was there but was only talking and standing there talking to another Frenchman, while there were more than half a dozen groups of people waiting for their food.
I felt that they didn't care for repeat customers.
They have big "No Smoking" signs there but they don't enforce it either, they just let those smokers annoy and endanger the...
Read moreI almost passed by this restaurant as the prices were a little high for salad and I wanted salad. In the end I stopped and saw a porkchop on the menu and went for it.
Glad I stopped because out of the week I have been in the Philippines, this was the very best food so far! Portions were very large, so worth the extra in my opinion.
Everyone was very friendly, the restaurant was clean and the tables spaced nicely.
Had the porkchop with madh potoatoes and the green salad [cheapest]. The salad dressing was a mustard vinaigrette and very flavorful...I wish there was even more! Everything was fresh in the salad. The porkchop was huge with a nice, edible layer of fat around the outside. Delicious. All of the meat I have had [every meal] in the Philippines has been tough and flavorless/overcooked. This chop could have been served less cooked, but still, it was very good! Nice veggie and mashed potatoe on the side and a sauce.
The lady next to me was having some sort of pasta [maybe with shrimp]. I don't know how it tasted but smelled delicious and again, the serving was large.
I'm going back for dinner for sure! Edit: So I returned for dinner and I have been traveling for 3 months and wanted my favorite salad, a cobb. They had all of the ingredients so I asked if they would prepare it for me and they did! It was delicious!! Adding that photo as well. [Lettuce, tomato, bacon, grilled chicken, feta cheese amd...
