Food wasn't good as expected, especially salmon - tasteless, as if it was frozen and unfrozen several times. Sushi with mangoes - I don't know, matter of preference I guess, didn't like it. We got a plate with different sushis. I got my food in a big plastic container, so after I could take home leftovers. And they put a container cap under container. It would be nice for a cheap chain restaurant. I'm not sure if it's chain restaurant, but it is definitely not cheap. And in such places I would like to have my food in proper plates. Another annoying thing was - 10% service fee. Service fee supposed to be included in meal price, right? Customer has to pay for a meal an amount that is indicated in the menu, not more. If you charge extra that you call "service fee" it would be fair if you notify customer about it before they order. At least you could put a note in menu like "we charge 10% service fee" or something. All and all I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Waste of time, money, spoiled mood. Some people would say - inconvenient location! But if place is good it doesn't matter where it is, right? And It's not good. There are a lot of better places in...
Read moreOverall, I recommend this restaurant. Continue reading for more details if you wish. The food here is well prepared and tasty. We tried some sashimi and sushi, as well as tempura. We also had bento boxes which are available around lunch time, and we felt very satisfied with our meal. It's a bit on the pricier side but not as much as the seafood at Alona beach (which frankly is just a tourist trap). The only thing I didn't enjoy very much on their menu was the grilled salmon in the salmon bento box. I would recommend to the chef to consider bringing the salmon to room temp before cooking it, and avoid over cooking it. I also recommend that the 10% service charge be disclosed on the menu so that there isn't any surprise. Us foreigners are used to tipping but my wife (Filipina) was surprised by this. I'm not against the service charge but transparency is...
Read moreThe place is clean, sparsely decorated, and well-maintained, with a variety of spaces that cater to many group sizes. It even has a space that looks like it is dedicated for big gatherings. The staff very welcoming, courteous, and alert to your needs. The food was generally okay. Not great but not bad as well. We particularly loved the tempura, the squid legs, the salmon maki special, and the kanikama salad. The two ramen dishes we got though were a bit disappointing. Although the flavor was there and the serving may be good enough for two persons, the broth was a bit flat and there was no richness to it. It is worth noting the spiciness in the broth of the Pirikara Beef Ramen was good. The noodles too were like store-bought, instant noodles. They were not filling. And the prices were too expensive for the dishes' serving...
