I guess at least one star is needed to to post a review, so there it goes.
Went to try out the place yesterday to celebrate my sister's birthday. She called twice in advance to ensure we will be accommodated, since we are going to be a big group. When we got there, the whole day's excitement was instantly wiped out by the unfriendly staff at the reception who wouldn't even smile or at least budge from her fon. It took us at least 20-30mins to be given a table because one has to settle all payments first before anything else. Also, if you'd choose the unli-pork or unli-beef, then, you're stuck with it. If one among your group will choose otherwise, then (s)he cannot join your table and needs to be seated elsewhere -if you guys get it, I definitely don't!
After the hullabaloo, we we're told that we can finally go to our table. We were then waiting to be ushered to where it is, but to our ignorance maybe of how the inner workings of the restaurant etiquette was in there, we were told by the same female staff, who was btw still busy fidgeting with her fon, to "just go inside, walk till the end of the restaurant and we will just see a long empty table." So, just not to ruin the mood, we all just walked in quietly.
We still did try to have the best of time since it was a birthday celebration. HOWEVER, the highlight of the night was about to come as a huge cockroach crawled on our table, our food and then flew towards one of my niece!!! We all run from our table screaming! I guess it wasn't farfetched since the wall fan right above us looked like it hasn't been cleaned for years!
Even with all that loud shrill, not one staff calmed us or even apologized. Nonetheless, we still did not want to ruin the night, also since it all has been paid for and we have consumed half of our filling, we just asked the staff to get all the infested plates, change them and relocate us to another table. So that happened.
We decided to still lighten up the mood so we still tried to have fun and continue with our meal just to be disappointed again because the restaurant ran out of lettuce! An Unlimited Korean bbq place RUNNING OUT OF LETTUCE?!!!! What the?!?!?!!!!
We still kept our cool also coz our mom was with us, however, one of my nieces couldn't help but overhear the other staff openly badmouthing other costumers that left their table a bit messy. Well, what do you expect - it is bbq place and not a 5-star Michelin Rated restaurant?!?!?!?!
Sigh, anyway, now to go on the real purpose of this post - to rate the place. Cleanliness - 1 out of 5 Food taste - 1.5 out of 5 Service - 0.5 out of 5 The place is not worth spending even P199. One can find a lot more Korean Bbq places that would be cleaner and serve better food, better choice meat and...
Read moreFor a price of 199, you should not expect a lot... cause i did, and im disappointed.
Pros: -Very affordable price (199 unli pork, 299 unli pork and beef, 399 i think it includes shrimp and other food, 499 has a lot of sidedishes and more food and ice cream) getting the full kbbq experience like normal people do, you have your own butane gas, and stuff, and spacious enough there's a lot of food, there's a bit of waiting time for rice and others but the meat is always on stock so you can go unli all the way
Cons: not well ventilated. Yes, the place is open, spacious, but there isnt enough fans.. we got there when there's many people so all the places with fans have been taken. Imagine grilling without a fan? Im sweating buckets not enough utensils. Aside from the fact that their spoon and forks are plastic, and not environmentally friendly, there isnt enough utensils like tongs for cooking (there's a waiting line for tongs), not enough glasses (which isnt even a glass, plastic baso sis), and plates (tho i think its because the plates that customers use werent collected until after they eat so it piles up..) not clean. Tables and chairs werent wiped (especially, when you grill and the oil sparks everywhere). just not a good experience.
Its better to just pay for the 499+ kbbq if you want to enjoy it, it was stressful cooking... but for those who cant afford, and want to try kbbq this is good enough, the unli meat for 199 is a good enough offer to...
Read moreFor its price, the experience isn't bad but there are a number of areas they need to work on. For starters, parking is a problem when the place is packed. It is located along Congressional Avenue where there is no public transport so most people come in their vehicles. But there's not enough secure parking space and that's a downer. They also have a complicated pricing system based on the type of protein you order. Unlimited pork is the cheapest at Php 199, then pork and beef at Php 299, then pork beef and salmon at Php 399 and finally unlimited wagyu beef at Php 499. That in itself isn't so bad, but to ensure that you don't go sharing your high-priced meal with your neighbor who ordered a lower priced meal, you have to sit at different tables. That isn't too appealing when you come in a large group and you all have different dining preferences. It's self-service but the system is rather unwieldy especially for first timers. But you get used to it as you go along. As for the food, there's not that wide a selection of side dishes as you may imagine at these price points -- rice, some processed meatballs and chorizo, sweet dilis, a couple of types of kimchi and lettuce -- which you can keep loading up on throughout the meal. We tried the Php 299 set, with unli pork and beef. The beef was okay, but the pork wasn't too high in quality. Despite these shortcomings we did enjoy a hearty meal and...
