The Ates who were serving were perfectly fine and kind. Although I had a weird experience with the owner. I ordered a banana brew shake and since I still felt full from lunch I asked them to keep it for me in the fridge. I sat down to use my laptop and their internet to do some emails. I was sitting for only maybe 25 minutes max when the owner came up to me and told me to move to another spot because more people were coming in and I had to move. I am Filipino and she was catering to the new white customers who were sitting in the stools who just came in. She told me that they weren’t an Internet cafe and should not sit there and suggested for me to go elsewhere. She made it seem like me sitting in that bench was a disturbance. I told her that I was also customer and had the. Right to sit anywhere I wanted. She still asked me to move because she said again we are not an Internet cafe. I didn’t get her point. But I just moved and asked to get my smoothie to go in my water bottle. She was weird for that request, it felt racist and inconsiderate. There was another guy near me who was using his computer and I didn’t see her talk to him at all. Why did she only ask me? I would never come back here or recommend it to anyone. I commend and thank the ladies working in the kitchen and cashier for their kindness though as I told them of the issue. This whole...
Read moreReally disappointed by this place. It could have been perfect but it was not at all... considering the power shutdown, we knew that we would not have all the options for breakfast but it was really limited. The pancakes we had were super good, nothing to say! But my friend had just cereals and milk instead of a smoothie, and we were charged the full price. This was not the worst tho, we rented one scooter from this place and after spending 2000php at that place for 5 breakfast and coffee (which is about 35€, quite expensive for Philippines), the guy told us 350php per day and we ended paying 500php for one day, non sense, we gave up at the end. On top of that, one of the lady was getting her finger nails removed near the kitchen, I have a proof but I will not post this picture here. It could have been a 5 stars, really if the guy was more comprehensive and the people from that place were...
Read moreI lived and breathed Common Ground during my stay in Pacifico. The food is top notch—everything I ate was fantastic. The caterpillar smoothie bowl (the green one) was my favorite. But the shakshuka with the homemade sourdough was to die for (with a side of pesto was chefs kiss), and the sourdough pancakes were really unique and delicious! The property is also very quaint and cozy. The seating/eating area is small, but it’s nice and encourages conversation! I also took the morning yoga classes here and found them highly enjoyable! Overall, I woke up every day excited to go to Common Ground again and honestly miss it a lot since I’ve moved along. By far the healthiest and freshest food option in the area. They also have cacao! Can’t go wrong with anything...
