After choosing from all possible restaurants within the vicinity, we chose Rekados for their Spanish cuisine offerings.
To our disappointment, the food did not meet our expectations. Apart from very limited selections on the Spanish cuisine, the food quality was not satisfying.
We ordered both variations of Paella - Valenciana and Negra. We felt that the quality falls more under mixed rice rather than a paella. Although the food was served in a small paellera, the taste lacked quality of it being cooked in one. The consistency of the rice was just too wet (almost soggy) for a paella, no hint of saffron at all, and no traces of the crusty crispy bottom.
But I would like to commend the portion size.
Having limited enticing Spanish offerings, we disappointingly ordered additional Filipino items.
Being in Tagaytay, we went for the safest - Bulalo and Tawilis.
However, both were below average. The only redeeming factor for the Bulalo is its tender meat. The soup tasted artificially flavored, not having the enjoyable taste of beef broth expected of a bulalo in Tagaytay.
