I recently had the pleasure of staying here and it was a fantastic experience overall! The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained. They had all the basic amenities needed for a pleasant stay. While the room was clean and cozy, there was room for improvement in terms of modernity and decor. However, considering the breathtaking views from the window and the peaceful atmosphere, it was a minor issue. The service at the resort was exceptional! The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a great experience. They were very knowledgeable about the local diving spots and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The location of Sogod Bay Scuba Resort is unbeatable. Situated right by the beach, it offers stunning views and immediate access to some of the best diving spots in the Philippines. It’s perfect for those looking to explore the rich marine life of Sogod Bay. The tranquility of the area adds to the charm, making it a perfect getaway for nature and scuba diving enthusiasts. The food at the resort was absolutely delightful! There was a wide variety of dishes to choose from, catering to both local and international tastes. Each meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The seafood, in particular, was outstanding, reflecting the freshness of the local catch. Dining with a view of the bay made the experience even more memorable. Overall, I highly recommend Sogod Bay Scuba Resort for its excellent service, fantastic location, delicious food, and comfortable accommodations. It’s a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful retreat with amazing diving experiences.

Well my 2nd visit to SBSR this year, I bought my wife this time who also dives. Well an uneventful journey to resort, this time took the overnight ferry from Cebu to Hilongos arriving in resort early morning, Annalyn was on hand to see us to our accommodation. Restful first day catching up on journey and chatting with staff and other divers. All kit checked and sorted by DM Dave for next days diving. Nothing is to much trouble for staff, next day kit loaded on to Melly boat and was given assistance by Dave, Greg and Puloy onto the dive boat. Great dives with Pedro, well we were at resort for 14 days and dived most days visiting 12 different sites. My wife also dived more than she thought she would she loved it. We took the Whale watching trip and were blessed by 3 or 4 of these majestic beautiful animals. All through our stay staff were very attentive both whilst diving and in resort. We would love to thank all the staff for there help and assistance, Phil, Darlene, Daryl, Annalyn, Rea,Michelle, Pedro , Dave Rosello, Puloy, Greg and Dave. Both my wife and I gave the resort 10/10.

We went here to dive. Unfortunately, they don’t have their boat yet so all our dives are via shore entry. The house reef (both morning and night dive) were satisfactory. We saw the yellow pygmy seahorse and several frog fish in Tangkaan and Sta. Sofia sites. We were allowed to check in early and we left at exact check-out time. The only downside in visiting this place is the distance from the airport (closest airport is Tacloban). Public transportation’s schedule depends on whether the vans are full. Allocate 6 hours of travel although technically it’s only 4 to have enough buffer time for transpo waiting time. We got all our meals from the resort. Serving is big and is good for two people. The taste and value for money is also satisfactory. The quality of service provided makes it top-notch. Thanks to Rhea for all her help. Our diving was planned and guided by Dave who has an eye for spotting sea creatures perfect for macrophotography. Our room accommodation was also very satisfactory. The AC, water heater, space and design of the room seems to have a diver’s need in mind.

I have stayed at Sogod Bay Scuba Resort five times (and counting). We have never been disappointed there. We have brought friends with us on the last three of those occasions, and we will bring more friends with us in the future. The place is about as good as it gets. From a perfect location, excellent room choices, an excellent restaurant and staff and, of course, fantastic diving. The diving is a great combination of beautiful, healthy reefs and awesome muck diving. The night dive at the Padre Burgos pier is not to be missed...and I never do. What I also like about the resort is that they take an active approach in trying to protect and improve the marine environment. They have an ongoing coral restoration project and they cull Crown of Thorn Sea Stars, as necessary, to give the reefs a better chance to flourish. I highly recommend Sogod Bay Scuba Resort, and I count the days until our next visit.

I am an underwater photographer and visited Sogod Bay Scuba Resort again in January. I have dived at many places around the World and Sogod Bay Scuba Resort is my favorite place to come back to. The diving there is fantastic and varied: some of the best wall/reef diving anywhere plus lots of macro/muck subjects. Also lots of turtles, whalesharks and we often get to see dolphins while crossing the bay. As good as the diving is, the people are what really makes the place special for me. The staff at Sogod Bay Scuba resort are friendly, warm, hard-working and fun loving! The resort itself is just steps from the water with clean comfortable rooms and fantastic views. The restaurant is also fantastic with a large menu and reasonable prices. It takes some travel to get there, but it is well worth it as the diving is not crowded and the locale not over-tourist-ed. I look forward to visiting there again soon!
