To be honest, if I could rate this with zero star, I could have. This is the first restaurant I've visited since coming home from abroad yesterday. We dined here since my mom specifically chose this place to celebrate her 60th birthday (This is not my mom's first time on this restaurant. She liked it during her dine in). However, to my disbelief, this is the worst crew I've ever encountered. This could be an isolated case, but I believe this is something with the crew's poor communication and unruly crew members. You can even add here a bit of racism.
Special mention to Ralph for his unprofessionalism.
To begin, I was welcomed by a female receptionist who asked me how many seats we need. "Five," I said. Right from that reception area, I told her secretly (1st time, take note) that it's my mom's 60th birthday, and I asked if I could order a simple little cake just for my mom to blow a candle (you know, basic stuff). She offered their in-house free cake for birthday celebrants. Ok, wow, that's good.
We were directed to our table, took some snaps, and ordered our food. Right after ordering, I, again, secretly (2nd time) left our table, went to the waitress who took our order, and reminded her of the birthday cake. She confirmed that it's already included in our order. Ok, that's nice.
Our food came, we ate, we finished and I thought it would come after we asked for the bill. But still, no, a male staff gave me the bill to clarify the amount. I asked for a pen, I encircled the "1 free birthday cake" and secretly (3rd time) told him that the encircled one had not come yet, I said, "May I follow up" and OMG, he said "Hindi pa po dumadating yung birthday cake?". Are you for real, bro? I was making an effort to make it as a surpirse, but you ruined it. Anyway, he said he would follow up. I th
The worst is yet to come. We received the receipt & our credit card. By this time, the cake should I arrive, right? But still, there is no urgency on all the staff to prioritize my request. Thus, for the 4th time, I followed up on the front area the birthday cake.
Finally, Ralph assisted my request, but to my surpirse, he just came with just a cake without the other crew members. It was the most akward moment. While serving the cake, he even asked who did I follow up on my request. Really? Are you for real? I just told him there is no need to follow up because I reminded the team multiple times, and I said thank you. What did he do? He dropped the plate of cake on the table in front of my mom. Disrepecting me and especially my mom. Ms. She, the manager, if you really value your customers, I can give you a copy of the video of that moment, well, only if you would ask for it. (I'll update here if the manager even bothered) Ralph even made an angry-like look at me when he left our table. If you have CCTV cameras, you can check it. I just don't want to make a commotion during that time because I don't want to ruin my mom's birthday.
In the end, all the five of us sang the birthday song. All by ourselves. I've never felt so unappreciated, ever in my life. What more was my mom's feelings during that time.
What's worse is that when we are leaving the place, we hear the other crew members singing "happy birthday" to american guests. Racism? I don't know. you tell me.
I heard my mom ask the staff in front, "Bakit po ako hindi nakantahan? Sila meron. " This broke my heart, really.
I was about to leave and forget it, but hearing this from my mom, really, this is something simple and basic. This is the time I was really pissed and required the manager, Ms. She. Of course, like any other managers should do, she did her job well. She listened and apologized on behalf of her crew. But I definitely told her that this was unacceptable and I was extremely disappointed in their service. For the price, the service is subpar, the food is okay, a little bit better than carinderia, the place is warm (no AC) & most importantly, mosquito infected area.
Should I recommend it? Yes, to those who might want to experience this kind of...
Read moreWe got to try Farmer’s Table during an overnight stay at Nurture Wellness Village. Breakfast was included in our package, and since the restaurant is on-site, we also had dinner there. Overall, it was a mixed experience—great ambiance and some highlights, but not everything met expectations. Breakfast had stronger dishes, while dinner was less consistent.
Dinner: We kept things light before our massages.
Country-Style Pancit Palabok – Visually impressive: big shrimp, tofu, squid, pork, and squid ink calamari. But flavor-wise, it fell short. The sauce lacked depth—I had to add fish sauce. It looked premium but didn’t taste it.
Hearty Farmer’s Vegetable & Chickpea Minestrone Soup – Tasted fine, but mostly potatoes. A more balanced mix (like sausage or more veggies) would’ve helped.
Truffled Mushroom, Bacon and Egg – A decent pasta, but no truffle flavor. It ended up tasting like a good carbonara, not what the name promised.
Grilled Chili Garlic Butter Blue Marlin Steak – The star of the meal. Perfectly cooked, with rich, garlicky butter that complemented the fish well.
Iced Matcha – My daughter, a matcha fan, rated it 8/10—a win.
Breakfast: Breakfast came with our package, but it looks like you can also order it à la carte.
Farmer’s Egg Benedict – A satisfying twist on the classic, with a perfectly poached egg and creamy hollandaise.
Amadeo Style Garlic Pepper Longaniza – Well-cooked, flavorful longaniza with crispy skin and juicy inside. Hearty and well done.
Daing na Bangus – Crispy, tender milkfish paired with rice. A simple but well-prepared classic.
Service: Food arrived quickly—everything within 10 minutes except the marlin (about 15). Staff were efficient but lacked warmth. No one was rude, but most seemed overly serious. Even a birthday song felt flat, though a couple of staff were friendlier.
Ambiance: Beautiful, open-air setting with thoughtful design. A live violinist added a classy touch. Only issue: two persistent flies hovered near our table, even after candles were lit to deter them—minor, but distracting.
Overall: Farmer’s Table has charm and a few standouts—the marlin, the matcha, and the setting. But the food overall didn’t fully deliver, and the service felt a bit stiff. It’s worth visiting for the ambiance and select dishes, but may fall short if you’re looking for a refined dining experience from...
Read moreAmidst the serene charm of Tagaytay, Farmer's Table beckons with an invitation to experience the very essence of farm-to-table dining. When our group of eager food enthusiasts descended upon this charming eatery, we knew we were in for a delightful culinary journey.
Taste and Presentation: The menu at Farmer's Table Tagaytay unfolds like a gastronomic love letter to fresh, local ingredients. For brunch, we delved into a quartet of delectable creations. Two dishes truly stole the spotlight.
The Crispy Cauliflower and Broccoli is a testament to the wonder of simplicity. Whether savored alone or paired with the rich blue cheese sauce, each bite exudes a flavorful symphony. The real star is the freshness of the vegetables themselves, rendering the sauce a delightful complement.
Sizzling Gambas, a classic favorite, proves that sometimes, traditional recipes are timeless for a reason. The balance in the dish is impeccable - each succulent shrimp dances in the harmonious medley of spices. The embodiment of just right.
Pancit Palabok reveals the subtlety of Filipino flavors. While enjoyable on its own, a squeeze of calamansi elevates the dish to new heights. Seafood and egg harmoniously unite in a citrusy embrace, evoking waves of satisfaction.
The Fried Tawilis showcases the magic of achieving the perfect crunch. Paired with the local favorite, pinakurat vinegar, the tawilis becomes a symphony of crispy delight. (Caution: Avoid the provided vinegar.)
On the coffee front, the barako coffee left us yearning for a bolder brew. It's a minor note in an otherwise harmonious melody of flavors.
Service and Atmosphere: Amidst the tranquility of Tagaytay, Farmer’s Table emerges as a haven of calm and culinary pleasure. The ambiance during our weekday visit was exceptionally pleasing, offering the serenity required for a memorable dining experience.
