I recently dined at La Gran by Mano Mano and found the experience to be a mixed bag. The highlight of my visit was definitely the food. The dishes were flavorful and presented well, especially the seafood platter, which included fresh prawns and a variety of fried and grilled items. The black paella, rich with squid ink, was unique and tasty, though it might not be for everyone. The crispy fried chicken provided a nice crunch and tenderness inside. For dessert, the halo-halo was a delightful treat, with vibrant colors and sweet flavors combining perfectly.
However, the atmosphere at La Gran was somewhat disappointing. The decor felt a bit outdated, and the overall ambiance lacked the cozy, inviting feel that makes for a memorable dining experience. The lighting was dim, and the noise level was higher than comfortable, making it hard to have a relaxed conversation. These elements significantly detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable evening.
The service also left much to be desired. While the staff were friendly, they seemed somewhat disorganized and inattentive. We had to wait quite a while for our orders to be taken and even longer for the food to arrive. Additionally, getting the attention of the waitstaff for refills or additional requests was a challenge. Overall, La Gran by Mano Mano offers some delicious dishes that are worth trying, but the dining experience is marred by subpar atmosphere and service. With some improvements in these areas, it could become a top-notch dining destination. I've been here twice both in the dining area and private room. • Food is not up to par with the price.
