Stara Ponderosa — Restaurant in Katowice

We had:

Krewetki w zalewie piri-piri: it came with a a few medium sized shrimps dipped in melted cheese (tasted like gouda) with slices of piri-piri. The taste was ok, nothing special about it. It tasted like spiced cheese and shrimps

Risotto z Krewetkami (in the picture): it is visible in the picture that the risotto was halfway cooked, it wasn't mushy, but crunchy. This after an hour waiting. The sauce was good, but the halfway cooked rice and the fact that it was already cold ruined. Plus, it came with several big chunks of garlic.

Burger Wołowy z Frytkami: the fries and the sauce were very tasty, however you could feel a lot of cartilage from the meat. Meaning that, they over charged for a burger with low quality meat.

We had a wonderful dinner experience at Stara Ponderosa in Katowice. The location is stunning — right next to a serene lake, which adds a peaceful, picturesque charm to the evening. The rustic interior perfectly complements the natural setting, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere that feels both elegant and inviting.

The service stood out — our waiter was incredibly helpful and attentive. The food was simply excellent. The venison was a clear highlight — tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Desserts are not prepared on site. Ice cream is bought (a low quality one, considering its taste), whipped cream is the spray one and the milk is not fresh but the uht one from the carton box. Considering the prices and the appearances, I was definitely expecting fresh ingredients and dishes actually prepared in the restaurant. Why going to a restaurant to eat the same ice cream with spray cream that you can buy in any store?? Moreover: the waiter came and asked if all ok, as usual. I asked him about the ice cream and the rest, and he said that ingredients are not prepared in the kitchen, but bought somewhere. He then walked away while I was saying that I was expecting fresh food in such a place. Evidently he only asked because he is used to, and not for listening...
