It will be one of your surprises in Portugal. If you are not aware of the place - prepare to be surprised. The location is on the middle of the Gafanha (not a very turistic place) and when you park you see a typical local portuguese cafe. Do not go there.... but turn to the basement ("a cave"). As soon as you enter, you just moved into a different place. A Cave is thus an international-inspired restaurant, but with portuguese dishes. Food confection is quite good (surprisingly good), and the major issue is that some of the food materials could benefit from higher quality meats (they are good portuguese meats, but the confection would be worth better). The dishes for two are a good bet - and the wine list has very reasonable prices in some brands. Service is sympathetic and will make you feel welcomed. The owner and staff is extremely friendly, always smiling and transmit tranquility. The restaurant is nice decorated, with a modern design, very clean with fresh air, elegance and refinement, comfortable chairs and tables. A very successful evening where we felt extremely well until the closing of the restaurant when we drank of wine glass with the staff. O restaurante A Cave, na Gafanha da Encarnação, é uma verdadeira surpresa gastronómica. A comida é excelente, super bem confeccionada e com sabores que mostram claramente o cuidado e a qualidade dos ingredientes utilizados.
O serviço é irrepreensível: funcionários simpáticos, atenciosos e sempre prontos a recomendar os melhores pratos. O ambiente é tranquilo, acolhedor e bem frequentado, perfeito tanto para uma refeição em família como para um momento mais descontraído entre amigos.
Apesar de estar localizado no meio de uma aldeia, vale completamente a pena a visita. A relação qualidade/preço é fantástica, com um valor médio por pessoa bastante acessível e totalmente ajustado à experiência que proporciona.
Sem dúvida, um restaurante que merece ser conhecido e repetido. A comida por si só já justifica...
