Ordered a steak from ofício, quality was very good.
However, the property manager from the market decided to approach us, while we were having our meal (5 people) , saying that we could not have a regular water bottle or drink from it, a bottle we brought with us.
The manager then said that there were signs everywhere advertising it, which was a lie. I had been there 7 or 8 times and never did I see such message nor had I been warned about it. My family, which was visiting for the first time, also did not see any signs that we couldn’t bring our own drinks. After a very heated discussion, instead of deescalating the situation with a simple notice and allowing us to finish our meal, he then went outside, took a picture of the so called sign (hidden behind a door, and not visible at all) and brought it again to our table, showing it to us on a picture taken on his phone, insisting that he was right. Ah, also threatened to call the cops if I didn’t put the water bottle away (simply absurd).
Ended up ruining our 120€ meals, upsetting five people because of a water bottle…
Even though I recommend the restaurant, the property manager only seems to care about money, even if it means upsetting their customers.
Two regular customers and another three new ones that won’t be coming back. If you’re reading this review, I hope...
Read moreWeird to ask for a coffee, a Coca-Cola and a beer and have to pay 3 times in 3 different places within the same market. It's not efficient, neither practical, neither economic from the point of view of time consuming and logistics because 3 basic drink products are only available each in a different stand/shop/spot, implying the consumer to make 3 purchases instead of just one. Definitely, for this type of agregated business, there should be a process with some kind of single checkout counter for payments (pre-payments), and then the consumers would pay there and then collect the different bought products in the different stands/bars/coffees/restaurants.
All the environment is pretty good.
Prices could be 15% cheaper to be a fair price per product.
Parking it's ok but lacks more light and security.
There should also be an extra ATM machine.
Bathrooms could be more comfortable and more periodically clean.
The service of waiters is not sufficiently good for a place with capacity for many persons.
Waiters should be more qualified and not "just pretty" without capacity for handling basic tasks or without speaking English.
Overall 4...
Read moreThe dynamism that the industrial zone of Almada once had, before being abandoned, is now regaining it again, with the arrival of Mercado da Romeira. The flavors of the 14 spaces of the food court in Almaden can be tasted inside the old factory, which has since been restored, with high ceilings and long dark wood tables.Opened in 2018, it not only boils down to just one restaurant, but combines the best of gastronomy in an incredible place, be it indoor or outdoor (esplanade). Previously part of Quinta Real do Alfeite, owned by King D. Carlos I, was one of his frequent stay points, satisfying his taste for hunting. In turn, Queen D. Amélia, his wife, took advantage of the pleasant environment to go to baths. Romeira was also known for washing clothes for Lisbon, in the ponds of the old Largo da Romeira. The region had several water springs, attracting both laundresses and...
