Sintonia Experience — Restaurant in Angra do Heroísmo

The food here is absolutely fantastic, and so are the wines. The staff is super attentive and nice, the chef comes to the table to explain the dishes and answer any questions (we were there on a quiet monday evening). They speak English very well. The ingredients used here are noticably excellent, and incredibly well prepared. The Sintonia Steak was the most tender steak I've ever had. The mushroom risotto is the only vegetarian option, but you won't regret it, it has so much flavor! The cheesecake was good, but the chocolate mousse is where it's at. And trust me, get the matching dessert wine.

Do keep in mind that this restaurant only opened it's doors 2 months ago. This is definitely noticable in some aspects, like the bathrooms being completely dark when I went there, but the quality of the food and wine more than makes up for it. And if you know they just opened, it's kind of charming in a way to see they are still...

Very good food, excellent cevice, very differentiated dessert, interesting wines, very carying service... Quite a disappointment at the end when paying, as already experienced elsewhere on Terceira, that the only dish that is not listed with a specific price on the menu - catch of the day - and which was recommended by the chef, costs more than twice as much as the other main courses on the menu and is therefore completely out of line in terms of price. Somehow you can't escape the feeling of having been cheated. Its really a pity, after all we won't be coming back, as originally intended. Wow! We loved this place. It's undoubtedly the most avant-garde dining experience on Terceira. For a 23-year-old chef who trained at one of the world's most acclaimed restaurants, the chef is very proud and deeply involved with all aspects of the experience. He presents every dish to the tables himself, speaking passionately about his use of local ingredients and unique flavor combinations. The wine pairing is also on point.
