A Memorable and Honest Portuguese Lunch

We had a truly lovely lunch here — after walking 25km on the way to Santiago!

Everything felt sincere, from the kind and attentive service to the focus on fresh, local, homemade ingredients. The olive oil stood out immediately — rich, fragrant, and clearly well-chosen.

As novices in Portuguese wines, we really appreciated the helpful and thoughtful recommendation, which perfectly complemented the meal.

The food itself was excellent. The beef was hands down the best we’ve had during our week in Portugal — tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Our daughter had chicken with mushrooms and proper homemade chips, simple and comforting. We also shared a delicious shrimp dish with potatoes in eggs — rustic, hearty, and full of flavor.

It’s always a pleasure when a restaurant makes sense — when you can feel the care in the kitchen and the respect for good ingredients. This place does just that.

I truly enjoyed a meal there. I ate steak with salad, french fries and batatas puree and everything was delicious. The steak was big, I hardly ate everything 🙈 The dessert was also delicious. A ‘glass of wine” was 250ml of wine 🙈 The service was super-kind and very helpful, due to I don’t speak Portuguese yet. Taking into account the quality and taste of food, the size of portion and the look of restaurant - the price is really ok. I will go back there...

Were made to feel very welcome. We were a party of 4 and two had a dish of the day and two had the prawn curry. Food was delicious and portion size perfect. Great selection of desserts. Portuguese and English spoken. Will recommend to local friends and looking forward to returning...
