Excellent restaurant.
I understand the chef is French -trained but uses the local ingredients to perfection.
My partner and i had 2 steaks rare, cooked exceptionally. Alongside there were beautiful mountain veggies including cabbage, carrots and courgettes accompanied by smashed (yes smashed) potatoes. Alongside all this was an INCREDIBLE fresh garlic and olive oil sauce.
For sweet we had a creme lait (creme brulee). Heavenly. A classic french sweet only enhanced by the rich local eggs that went into it's creation, finished with flame tableside.
Exceptional food done simply with love and care.
Our server was the main host of the restaurant, I believe she is the partner of the chef. Despite the busy restaurant, she was ever so kind and welcoming (considering she was the only waiting staff at the time on a Thursday lunchtime).
Easily recommended to any visitors of Soajo. If you dont come for the insane views and walks, please stay and appreciate the...
Read moreThis restaurant is superb the food, especially the Posta de Cachana was outstanding in fact it was so good we returned two days later to have the same meal. The steak was the most tender perfectly cooked delicious meat I’ve had for a long time accompanied with wonderfully fresh beautifully prepared vegetables. On the second visit I opted for the lamb shank which was cooked to perfection wonderfully tender meat. Carla and her team were all wonderful so pleasant friendly and helpful delivering the food to the table in a relatively short time despite being so busy. My wife Sharon and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. They deserve to do well and despite being busy on both days we were there like everybody we were treated like special guest. I’d recommend making a reservation to not be disappointed. Of course the beautiful little village is also well worth visiting. Thank you to everybody who made it such a special part of...
Read moreWe accidentally found this quaint restaurant after our cab driver from Arcos de Valdevez had dropped us off for several hours of hiking the hills around the Panada-Geres National Park. The owners were closing after lunch service had ended, but they graciously served us anyway. This restaurant is a gem for foodies. We are from Texas and appreciate good beef. The cachena beef is so tender and moist; later our cab driver explained to us that the cows that freely roam the park and surrounding villages, are "unstressed" and this area is renowned for its beef. The serving portions are big. My husband and I shared the beef with veggies, a salad and the delicious house wine. After the beautiful hike and the incredible lunch, we called the cab driver from Los Arcos to pick us up. It was a perfect day and we congratulate the owners of the restaurant on their superior...
