The service was amazing, the wine fantastic, but other Michelin star restaurants have been better and cheaper. That sounds possibly harsher than it really should be. It was good, and everything incredibly well prepared, but just not done in ways that I would have liked, e.g. everything seemed to lean into the more fishy flavors of fish, oysters etc. So while there are some Michelin star restaurants I'd say you should run back to every chance you get, here I'd say go, enjoy the atmosphere and wine with the meal, and then move on to the next experience. Worth a single trip, but maybe not a return trip. Granted others in our party loved every bite and I do think plan to come back if ever in the area again!

We had a lovely dinner at Palatial. We opted for the 9 course menu with the wine pairing. The pace of the service was perfect, not too slow, not too fast. The sommelier, Fernando, made our experience more special. Everyone made us feel very welcome. The food was good with reasonable portions that did not leave us feeling so full. For me the most memorable dishes were the scallop and the pineapple dessert with mint ice cream. Out of the wine pairings, my favourite wines were the red one and the Moscatel. The interior design was great as well.

Another phenomenal experience. this restaurant is beautiful, with every room looking to a standard you just can't match. The service demonstrates an attention to the client and concern for everyone's comfort and wellbeing that just makes you feel like royalty. And the food, is simply exquisite. The detail really pays off, finding sublime flavours in unique combinations. this is the second I've taken my family to dinner here this year, and I can't wait to go back.

A World-Class Experience at Palatial – Hotel & Michelin-Starred Restaurant in Braga

I had the pleasure of staying at Palatial and dining alone at their Michelin-starred restaurant—and everything was absolutely exceptional from start to finish.

The hotel was spotless, elegant, and calm. My room was beautifully kept, with every comfort thoughtfully provided. Service at the hotel was as professional as it was warm, setting the tone for an unforgettable stay.

The dinner experience was simply outstanding. I enjoyed the tasting menu at Table 11, and each course was artfully executed—refined, rooted in Portuguese tradition, and full of flavor. Highlights included the fish and lobster pasta, the hake with carabineiro, and an extraordinary suckling lamb dish. The pairing with Quinta do Regueiro Maturado 2020 was a perfect match.

The staff were among the best I’ve encountered—attentive, friendly, and very well-informed, with excellent English. They created a space where I could fully enjoy the experience without ever feeling rushed or uncomfortable.

A few small notes: one decorative passion fruit shell in a dish appeared moldy (not a major issue, but a detail worth refining at this level), and during cutlery changes, staff sometimes came a bit too close behind the guest. Also, I believe the experience would be even more personal if the team introduced themselves by name—it would allow guests to connect more with the service, which truly deserves recognition.

Special thanks to Chef Rui Filipe and the entire team. Their teamwork and consistency show true excellence and potential. This place has every ingredient to go even further. I will return, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a top-level culinary and hospitality experience in...
