Cabo Girão Cafe — Restaurant in Câmara de Lobos

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We ordered the Caesar salad, but it didn’t taste anything like a real Caesar – it came with thick slices of tomato and cucumber (which definitely don’t belong in a Caesar), there was no dressing, the chicken was cold, and it was missing croutons entirely.

The carbonara pasta was even worse – it was overloaded with eggs, to the point that it made us feel sick. The texture and flavor were completely off.

We also tried the burger, but it didn’t taste like a proper burger. The meat was tough and dry, and besides cheese and some mushrooms, there was nothing else inside – no sauce, no veggies, just plain and boring.

Overall, the food didn’t even look appealing, so we didn’t bother taking any photos. The only redeeming part of the meal was the coffee – it was actually quite good. Still, we wouldn’t return or...

We've ordered two flat whites. The lady told us that someone will bring it to the table. We waited but coffee did not arrive. Had to bring it myself which is not a problem - I am not a snob. But the coffee... I don't remember drinking something so revolting in a very long time. Overly hot, to the point you were burning your lips and fingers just from touching the cups. And it tasted really bad too - like watered down instant beverage. It had somewhat dumpy aftertaste - probably due to machine not being cleaned very often. We left after just two sips of this "pleasure". I get it - you are the only cafe in this location but it doesn't mean you can drop your standards to an absolute zero. Prices are another thing but I won't even get into that... I hate leaving bad reviews but this one was...

The barista was very confused and wasn’t really sure what we wanted to order. Since they didn’t have iced latte i ordered espresso on ice with milk - ended up with hot macchiato and had to remind the staff about the cup with ice.
