Great place to stay. Though we prefer more rustic or maybe even quaint places, this one took us by surprise. The owner and staff were really kind and helpful. Nothing was too much to ask for. They went the extra step and made the unforgettable experience. It is quite place, clean big and nice rooms. On the day of our leave owner prepared breakfast earlier for us, since we had plane to catch. Day before he willingly prepared cold meat and fruit cuts on a plate to take away in the evening. ||They have restaurant with good food and decent prices. Mango mousse was a bit different but taste was just sublime. ||If you like being surrounded by nature you'll enjoy this place. 5min of a walk and you are at the lighthouse hence the name Farol - lighthouse with cliffs stretching to the north coast. With just incredible sunsets this was the place to finish our vacation. Place wasn't crowded at all. We would return here...

The location of the place is excellent. After spending one day in Funchal our conclusion is so obvious for Residencial Farol. The landscape, view, rare untouched coast, lighthouse, everything is in one place. The owner and the staff are very nice and helpful. Meals are great, amount of it is more than enough. The caffe is fabulous. The best place to see the sunset in Madeira, if you want even from your room. I would like to emphasize the kindness of the owner. It is not intended as negative just for your information, don't be surprised if you see and here cows or goats. The place is not completely silent, you can hear the nature. The rooms are not insulated. It depends on each person, what bed is preferred, they have harder...
